Speed control

I'm trying to control the speed of my motor with the vesc tool. It seems like no matter what I do, after I program my esc, it just becomes an on/off switch for my motor. I pass the PPM threshold and it turns my motor on and at full speed. Any higher doesn't do anything. If i go below, it just stops the motor.

I would like to control the motor with a servo signal (50Hz 1.5ms center, 5VPP, 1.0-2.0ms range) to have the motor spin from 0-3000 rpm

Here's my hardware:

When I press yes it starts and after about 10 seconds I get this error message

Battery Voltage Settings

So I've just been working on the motor drivers and I did my first serious speed and power tests using the mobile vesc tool app, and I've been using it and its been really helpful with speed and power limiting and it goes plenty fast downhill and on flat ground, but as soon as I go uphill, the voltage drops really low, which understand is normal, but I don't know what kind of settings I should have to counter this, below are my significant settings

Question about COMM_GET_IMU_DATA packet

Hi, I  was write small Python binding for communicate with device using serial port.

As start point I use yours project. Currently I successfully handle COMM_FW_VERSION:

VESC Firmware Version 3.65, Hardware: 60, UUID: 25 00 2e 00 17 47 37 33 38 33 32 38

Now I parse COMM_GET_IMU_DATA and I have next questions:

1. Can you please explain, what mean byte before CRC value?

Reconstruct detection control algorithm inside the tool

Hi there,

My motor runs well during auto detection phases (both FOC and BLDC). After that, the manual controls (D,I,RPM, etc.) don't get it close as smooth. In fact, it only runs at 21% Duty Cycle. Tried PPM input in any available option, still no chance.

I wonder if I can run the detection algorithms inside the tool. Maybe in the development area? Is there some documentation about that?

Eagerly looking to any ideas!

Thanks!

Hi,

I updated to the latest fw but when I try to run the input wizard, I'm always asked to update the fw to a newer version.

Here are the screenshots to the input wizard message dialog and the current firmware information:

Hey Guys

I recently embarked on my first DIY board and with that, my first experience with the VESC tool. Please excuse my ignorance or lack of understanding of any aspects.

Bought a Flipsky6.6 Dual (i know, i probably should have spent the extra and just got a proper VESC) and set up using the VESC tool, paid for and downloaded from here.

Initially went through all the standard initial setup wizards as shown in the documentation here, as well as YouTube videos.

The motors simply don't seem to operate properly.
