PPM read has an offset

Forums:

I'm generating PWM from ARDUINO, it works very well, I tested it with other ESC and servo and I checked with oscilloscope.

When I enable the RT APP button to see the PPM read by the VESC, it always has an offset of +0.2 ms. For example if the PWM is 1ms, the app shows me 1.2ms. Where is this offset coming from?

Is it a problem that I'm generating PWM for PPM? Actually is the input a PWM or a PPM? I don't get why PPM would make any sense...

foc openloop not starting motor on higher erpm

Hi, I have been bench testing my motor with foc openloop & found it operated my motor at the Amps & erpm I specified

until I got in to the higher rpm where it struggled to start or vibrated like mad.

My motor is a 6374 60kv with hall sensors.

I tried with 5A & 20A loads which worked until I increased the erpm to around 4-5000 erpm.

I am wanting to test the motor at around 10,500 erpm (1500 rpm) which is about half my no load rpm.

Anyone got any ideas as to what is going on or how I can remedy this thanks.

Please explain the parameters in VESC-Tool

Hello all,

I'm a newbee in electronics sad. Could you share with us some technical papers or book talking about the parameters in the BLDC Motors.
Because I didn't understand which are meaning of some technical term like:

Min- Max ERPM, Integrator Limit, BEMF Coupling, BR ERPM,.....

Any help would be appreciated,

Serial port error when Encoder detection is complete

Hello,

Newbee 1st time connecting controller to BE8108-100KV motor.

Tool Version 0.95, Firmware 3.40 Hardware 60 Manufacturer FSESC 6.6 Encoder AMT102V

Sensorless fine, both BLDC and FOC using ADC current control but when I try to detect the encoder it steps through the slow motion in both directions then comes up with a serial port error and does not display the offset and ratio. Tried all different kinds of USB cables, ferrite beads, LiPo battery, external supply, a couple of PC's [ Windows 10] all give the same error.

FOC configuration when resistance is measured as R=0.

My VESC6 with a bog standard bike-hub-motor runs the "RL measurement" as "R=0, please measure it first".

I don't understand where this comes from and I can't run the other detections. The resistance is not extremely low. The terminal "measure_res" command returns 136 mOhm.

It would be nice if the VESC_TOOL would allow me to enter such a resistance and allow me to continue the detection process instead of blocking the detection completely.

Motor temperature, how to set limit >120 C ?

The winding in my new motor is rated for 240 deg C, but VESC Tool limits the settings to 120 degC.  How to change the limits?

Also: I use 100k NTC (and 10k pull-up) to measure the motor winding temperature because because it gives much better resolution at high temperature (when compared to 10k NTC).   I changed the file hw_60.h  like this:

ADC Voltage Mapping wizard broken

Not to mention the confusing names of all these modes...The voltage mapping widget has the wrong display for several modes.

Current Reverse ADC2 Brake Button - this displays as a centered input and grays out the CH2 input.

Current No Reverse Brake Center - This one isn't centered, so its maybe swapped with the one above.

Current No Reverse Brake Button - has the CH2 input enabled

Current No Reverse Brake ADC2 - CH2 is grayed out

Duty Cycle - Shows negative duty cycle
