Connecting ABI encoder to VESC

Hi guys, I was hoping that some of you could help me out with this.

I have an E6 encoder from US Digital and I want to connect it to the VESC 6 so I can conduct tests with my motor with regards to rotatary position. The problem is that I have no idea of how to connect it to the VESC 6 as most forums I've visited talk about using the AS5047 as the encoder of choice. I would greatly appreciate the help.

Hello again,

I thought I posted this earlier, but it doesn't seem to have posted. Sorry if it is a repeat.

Can anyone post more info on how to select the FOC detection parameters? How would I select the current, duty cycle, open loop speed delay and time constant for a given motor. How do these relate to traditional motor parameters like Kv, rated torque, etc.

Help needed for VESC set up!

Hi. I would need some help as I’m not familiar with this area. I don’t know much about this area but I need to set up my system so I can use it for a project. So I have a motor with the following known specs: BLDC max power 1100 W, a 36 V (2 x 18v) Makita BL185B battery pack (each battery is 5 Ah 90Wh Li-Ion). The system is Radio controlled by a Radiolink RC3S rc. I need the set up of the Vesc to give maximum torque and maximum speed. The system need to travel as fast as possible on a closed circuit oval rail with a load of about 15 kg.

PPM read has an offset

I'm generating PWM from ARDUINO, it works very well, I tested it with other ESC and servo and I checked with oscilloscope.

When I enable the RT APP button to see the PPM read by the VESC, it always has an offset of +0.2 ms. For example if the PWM is 1ms, the app shows me 1.2ms. Where is this offset coming from?

Is it a problem that I'm generating PWM for PPM? Actually is the input a PWM or a PPM? I don't get why PPM would make any sense...
