Forums:

First of all, let me say hello to everybody as this is my first post to this forum although I have been following the VESC project for around 2 years. I have only been using VESC tool for Android along with the new bluetooth 4.0 module. All references I make to VESC tool are for the Android phone version. My hardware consists of 2 original VESC 6.6's from Trampa connected through CAN, and the BLE module.

Forums:

Please share your motor values here. It will help to create a list of motor used. Such a list will help to ad motors to VESC-Tool and get accurate setups nailed faster.

We need the

- size eg. 6374,

- KV

- type (inrunner/outrunner)

- manufacturer and model

- motor XML or screenshot of calculated motor values

- ideally the weight of the motor.

Need help: encoder shows 9.6 rotations per 1 motor rotation (9.6:1 gearbox)

Submitted by Alico on Thu, 2025-12-11 14:41

Forums:

VESC 6 mk2, 11 pole pair motor, sin/cos encoder on motor shaft.
9.6:1 reduction gearbox between motor and output.

Problem:
After FOC setup, rotating output shaft once (motor spins 9.6 times) shows ~9.6 rotations in rotor position display. VESC ignores gear ratio.

Tried:

  • Set Motor Poles = 22

  • Changed "Encoder Ratio" (0, 9999) → no effect

  • Re-ran sensor detection

Hi,

Newbie here. Been trying to solve an issue with VESC IMU not showing up on the VESC Tool. Specifically, the IMU detector is not detecting the IMU. Checking the terminal - "LSM6DS3 Address A failed, trying B (rx: 255) LSM6DS3 Address B failed (rx: 255)". Could anyone help me solve this issue?

Submitted by pf26 on Wed, 2025-11-12 16:13

Forums:

Hello, I need to access via internet to a VESC which has a wifi / uart interface (ESP32C3 based, simply replicating the UART to tcp byte frames) and a wifi client connected to a RUT240 Wifi/4G router.

This interface connects to VESC Tool TCP server at my office : I can see that the TCP connection is established :

BLE Connection Bug

Submitted by Gawarmel on Sun, 2025-10-12 11:02

Forums:

Setup: any VESC, Flipsky (or any) receiver, VESC WAND Controller and Vesc Tool 6.06 for android. This is a new bug, not seen with VESC Tool 6.05:

- connect VESC Tool android with vesc over BLE. SEtup Motor. This works perfectly.
- use NRF quick pair to connect VESC WAND Controller. Now VESC WAND works as usual, pairing successful
- disconnect VESC Tool 6.06
