Forums:

First of all, let me say hello to everybody as this is my first post to this forum although I have been following the VESC project for around 2 years. I have only been using VESC tool for Android along with the new bluetooth 4.0 module. All references I make to VESC tool are for the Android phone version. My hardware consists of 2 original VESC 6.6's from Trampa connected through CAN, and the BLE module.

Motor Values in VESC-Tool 2019

Forums:

Please share your motor values here. It will help to create a list of motor used. Such a list will help to ad motors to VESC-Tool and get accurate setups nailed faster.

We need the

- size eg. 6374,

- KV

- type (inrunner/outrunner)

- manufacturer and model

- motor XML or screenshot of calculated motor values

- ideally the weight of the motor.

VESC Tool 7 with VESC FW 5.01 and Balance Setting

Submitted by LaCocoRoco on Thu, 2026-06-11 23:51

Forums:

Hi everyone,

I'm running into an issue with the Balance App configuration and hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.

Setup:

  • VESC Firmware: v5.01
  • VESC Tool: latest version (7.x)
  • Hardware is limited to a maximum of FW 5.03

Problem: When selecting "Balance" under App Settings → General as the active app, no additional "Balance" configuration menu appears in the left sidebar — which I'd expect to show PID parameters, fault settings, ADC configuration, etc.

Calculate Power from RT Data

Submitted by Rit on Mon, 2026-06-01 23:46

Forums:

I searched “calculate power” on the “Project Forums” and did not find any help.

Using RT Data, I calculate battery electrical power as:

input_voltage * current_in

I calculate motor electrical power as:

input_voltage * duty_cycle * current_motor

Calculated this way, my motor power is about 1.4 higher than battery power which indicates to me that current_motor is peak while Google searchs indicate it is RMS.

VESC Tool 6.06 - Used to work, now won't open on any PC

Hello,

I need help with VESC Tool 6.06.

The issue: The software used to work perfectly on my setup. However, it has now stopped opening entirely. When I click the icon, nothing happens. I have tested this on multiple laptops, and the result is the same across all of them – the application simply won't launch.

eBike Speed (mph or kph) with mechanical transmission

I changed the "Subject" trying to get reply(s)

I use the Android VESC Tool while riding my ebike. I display RT data and I enable RT Data Logging. When I analyze logged data I see GPS data including gvel, bike speed in meters/sec. RT Data on the screen shows MPH calculated from wheel diameter and one fixed gear ratio which is usually wrong because I have a CVT. Is there a way to display gvel in the RT Data screen? (I could live with meters/ sec instead of Miles per hour.)

Bimodal Ld-Lq Saliency on T Motor AT4130

Hello! I've hit something I can't fully explain in VESC tool and wanted a second opinion.

I've been running repeatability studies on `conf-detect-foc` with a T-Motor AT4130 300 Kv (14-pole, ~14 µH, ~18 mΩ) on a Trampa VESC (`bldc` master at `cea46633`), driven by a short LispBM script that loops detection and reads back the parameters. Ultimately I was hoping to help characterise the motor to add to the forum here, as well as familiarise myself with VESC tool.

Android Tool

Forums:

Hi, I used the Windows tool to set up my board (FlipSky Dual FSESC4.20 Plus), and it has the menu on the left to choose Motor and App etc, however the Android App only seems to have a wizards menu?  I have seen some screen shots where it has tabs across the top that replicate the windows left menu, but mine doesn't.  So I can jump in and adjust motor settings.

Am I missing something? or is that how it is?
