VESC Tool

Software safety features interrupting normal operation.

Building a diy electric trike to pull a small camper trailer. Using flipsky motor controllers that are typically made for smaller motors with higher rpm than their current application. I have gotten the cart to work without shutting itself off, but that has been by reducing the current and erpm to a level that will not pull the trailer. The motors have enough power to pull the weight, but the controllers don't like it.

VESC Tool RPM not the actual in real life

Hi, currently, I am using the VESC Tool to configure my motor. When I set my RPM to 1000 on the VESC Tool software, the motor is only spinning at round 60RPM. I have already declare my motor and wheel is at 1:3 ratio using timing belt. May I know what settings can I change to ensure the RPM in the software is the same as  the RPM in real life? Thanks in advance

Startup codes?

Hi, I'm just getting started with a VESC 6 Mk V, running the f1tenth 5.2 software (with servo out enabled). Where can I see a list of fault codes? I'm getting 17 red flashes on startup, repeated once. When I connect the VESC to the vesc-tool and type "faults" in the terminal the response is "No faults registered since startup". Thank you.

Use Vesc-Tool to run two motors simultaneously via CAN

I have a working setup with two FSESCs connected via CAN. Normally I use the UART app and an ESP8266 connected via UART to one of the ESCs to control both motors, which works swimmingly.

I would like to work on the PIDs though, so I have made the ESP8266 a simple Wifi-UART bridge to be able to connect with VESC-Tool.

I can connect fine, and it's just as if I was connected via USB. I can see both ESCs, and I can control both, but I can't seem to find a way to control both at the same time.

NRF5X SWD Prog detection broken, always detects NRF52832 512K/64K

I've spent hours trying to get my BT module flashed and working. Using the SWD Prog functionality with a Little FOCer. Connect the module to SWD pins, click "Connect NRF5X", it shows "Target: NRF52832 512K/64K", even though it says NRF51822 on the module itself. Go flash a NRF51822 firmware anyway, it flashes successfully. Connect module via UART, doesn't work. Bought a couple more modules... no luck.

Delay on reverse function on electric boat

Hi,

Does anyone know how I can reduce the time delay from forward to reverse operation? I guess it has something to do with a "max erpm before full brake" parameter, but I cannot find

this setting in the android Vesc Tool.

I am using vesc6 with firmware 5.1 on an electric boat. To configure, I use android Vesc Tool 2.06.

Sensored acceleration vs sensorless

Submitted by Mastersam on Tue, 2021-06-01 11:48

Hi everybody,

I recently connected the hall sensors of my 26 inch wheel hub motor to my flysky VESC 6.6 (12S, 60A) .

The result is a way smoother with no more "failure" in the acceleration. But the acceleration itself is much slower than with sensorless mounting.

Do you have any idea of which settings I could change to get the maximum acceleration allowed by my motor ?

Sincerly
