Running PID position Control with FOC sensorless

Submitted by talabo on Fri, 2021-12-03 17:21

Hi,

I've have been testing PID position control with an ABI encoder (AMT102-V). As there seems to be som unpleasant behaviors at random times, when I have selected the Sensor Mode to Encoder (Motor Setting>FOC>General>Sensor Mode). Which made me change Sensor Mode to Sensorless.

My question is. Shouldn't PID position Control still work flawlessly, as long as I have selected Sensor Port Mode to ABI Sensor? (under Motor Settings>General>General>Sensor Port Mode).

PPM Position over CAN bus?

Submitted by walleywalker on Thu, 2021-12-02 18:47

Is there anyway to receive PPM (throttle position) info through CAN bus from VESC?   I am looking to implement light functionality like brake lights and would rather run that off the PPM position than things like checking for negative current flow from the motors.

I've noticed that current flow on braking (revserse) is not always negative if you're at a stand still position with no induced roll into the motors, say on a flat surface at a stop sign.

CAN_PACKET_STATUS 1-5 seem only to cover the following outputs.

Working on Open Source Remote Control for Differential Drive Robot using BLE

Since I finally have a rough working prototype, I figure I'd do a quick post to introduce a project that I'm working on. The full source is available on github.

I've been working on a dual motor robot that uses differential drive and I thought controlling it via bluetooth would reduce the hardware complexity of the entire thing. Since I couldn't find anyone else doing quite what I'm doing at this time, here's the remote that I designed.

The rpm control is not working properly

Hello, I am not a native English speaker(Korean). Both translator and interpretation are used. Sorry.

And, I am a beginner. We ask for your understanding in advance. thank you.

I am working on a project to make an RC car.

I bought a 'VESC 6 MkV' and followed the 'Motor Wizard FOC' of the VESC Tool Manuals on the VESC home page to calibrate my motor.
