Additional Status Messages

Submitted by louisgcr on Tue, 2021-12-21 08:04

Hi,

I am wondering if there is any other way to get additional status message such as ABS_OVER_CURRENT faults via the CAN bus in addition to the CAN_STATUS messages.

I can receive the CAN_STATUS_1_2_3_4_5

#CAN_STATUS_1_2_3_4_5
can2 00000904 [8] 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 29
can2 00000E04 [8] 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
can2 00000F04 [8] 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
can2 00001004 [8] 00 FD FE 84 00 00 25 1E
can2 00001B04 [8] 00 00 00 0C 00 EF 00 00

Is there any documentation for the serialization of the data?

VESC efficency in position vs speed mode

Submitted by vadimz on Mon, 2021-12-20 15:04

Hi,

Looking for any tips how to approach debugging the following situation:

VESC is controlling a direct drive winch motor that should lift a load. There is a magnetic 5047 encoder.  Motor detection and encoder initialization complete successfully. Idle operation in both position control and speed control mode looks correct.

With the load attached, in position control (position hold) mode the operation look correct - the current is roughly proportional to the load and is close enough to theoretical value ( Torque / Kt )

Hi

on the 75 300 vesc the are 3 + & -  input cables... i'm running a single 60v 16s battery. Question, do the 3 + cable converge as in parallel on do they have to be in series ie + - + - + -

in the wiring diagram it shows a wire splitter does that mean parallel ?

Vesc Max current 90A Vs ESC Max current 135A?

Hi Guys

First of all, thank you very much for all the content and knowledge that's been shared.

This is my first time posting. I've been trawling through the forum and haven't been able to find an answer.

I'm trying to make a jet surfboard for a bit of fun. Decided to go with a VESC as it has far more control than a standard ESC, however....

Axial Flow Pump Project

Submitted by design@imsltd.co.nz on Thu, 2021-12-09 02:05

Hi All

We are experimenting on an axial flow pump using the Flipsky 65121 120kV motor & 200A FSECS (see Image below)

For our testing we used a servo tester to start/stop the motor. This worked OK during our testing.

We now wish to be able to simply switch the motor on/off with a toggle type switch.

Can anyone offer a way we can simply switch the motor on/off?

Thanks for that

David
