VESC 6 Feature Requests

Forums:

Hey guys,
I am loving the performance so far with my new VESCs! I have had a few ideas for new features so I thought it would be best to start a thread.
Here are my two current ideas:

RPM-Current Mapping
- Define currents at different rpm’s to compensate for high power/high efficiency areas for constant acceleration.
- Graphical interface with add and drag points
- Eventually, an inertia based dyno run and auto compensate option

Probably first dead VESC SIX

Hi, yesterday I performed load tests on grass with me sitting on my mountainboard, and tried aggressively applying full throttle from stand still, and after few meters master VESC went dark, slave seems to be fine. My set up is dual VESC SIX via canbus, two sensored EMAX GT5345 170KV motors, set up in sensored FOC, 12S voltage, ppm input and bluetooth dongle was connected to master.

Arrow key function

While waiting for my remote and connectors I cannot do much other than using arrow keys :) My testing shows that pressing right or left "kicks" the motor going quite hard while up and down steadily increases RPM. Can someone describe what functions the arrow keys have?

ABS Over Current Fault

Hello,

I have been riding my board with two VESCs for a week or so now. I have been very impressed with the improvements especially regarding the lack of faults compared to the VESC 4.12 hardware. However, today I managed to throw an ABS Overcurrent fault by flooring the board while going about 1/2 speed and it almost threw me off. I used to have this happen all the time with the VESC 4.12 but I thought the VESC 6 had it fixed. Anyway, I am using 10s voltage, dual VESC 6, Dual 190kv motors. I pulled the fault info from the terminal.

Stalled startup.

Hi,

I've loaded my motor with my dummyload so that a torque is required to perform startup.

When I command 90A of motor current, the motor remains stalled. Shoving the rotor results in the motor running leisurely at "only" 35A. IMHO, the VESC6 should be able to startup this motor from standstill in sensored mode. What do you think?

The load is not quite perfect at "constant torque" but pretty reasonable. The torque required to get things running (my shove) in this situation is quite small.
