hi

ich have the same problems like @rich.

The Motors are cogging when starting in offroad conditions, slightly uphill only cogging, no start up is possible.
On flat concrete nice start up with slight cogging.

My Motors are 118kv Trampa and  runnig in FOC sensored.

After my last tour i print the Faultcodes of both Vesc6 and the Motor config.

All Files are at my onedrivefolder

PPM: Full Duty-Cycle at approx. 15% Throttle

Submitted by el micha on Thu, 2017-08-10 11:11

Forums:

I'm using the VESC 6 Beta with 118kv Trampa Motor (FOC, sensorless) on a Street Carver Board. I control via PPM (using rc car equipment). The problem being that i get full duty cycle already at very low throttle position. This especially noticeable when testing without load. Suprisingly enough driving the board was sort of OK (at least @22V). Will still have to test @44V. Nevertheless the effect was still there: I reach full speed with hardly any pull on the throttle. What can I do about it?

It seems I cannot add images, so here's a Link to the photo:

Foc Mode: high revs causing unusual behaviour

Hi,

the wiring of the regulator went well so I did a test drive with my scooter yesterday.

With load the motor spins up nicely most of the time and torques it's way to the desired speed.

When I reach top speed the motor starts rumbling and stuttering and i have to start from zero again... what can be the cause for that?

Do I have to shield the cables to avoid interferences maybe?

Can't connect to slave vesc via master usb in vesc-tool -SOLVED-

Forums:

Hey there,

i'm using dual HW 4.12 with FW 3.26, i have no access to the slave vesc when the usb cable is connected to the master vesc.
after clicking the CAN button in vesc-tool and clicking "connect" i get this error message:
"Could not read firmware version. Make sure that selected port really belongs to the VESC.

I don't know if this is a bug of vesc-tool or if i'm doing something wrong.

New motor....

Hi,

A friend has built his own BLDC motor... he wants me to make it spin, so I've gotten out the VESC6 to try to make it spin...

All it does is make noises. During FOC-detection it spins on the second attempt. But somehow the firmware decides not to trust it spinning. On BLDC detection I haven't been able to get it to spin. Neither in BLDC-mode, Just commanding a duty cycle or current makes it shake a bit but not spin.

Vesc Six won't run or flash firmware

I can't seem to get the software to connect without being limited because of out of date firmware. I downloaded the new software but it still won't upload the new firmware to the Vesc.  Keeps throwing errors and won't connect without a power cycle. Is it possible to check if it has a bootloader or not?

It claims to have FW 3.24 with bootloader 60

Max current

Submitted by RSR on Wed, 2017-07-12 09:33

Forums:

I would like to run 0.5 seconds bursts of 130 A (maybe even 150A) at 48V.   Is this possible/feasible with VESC 6?

I see there is a limit of 100A in VESC Tool, but sensor range and FETs should be capable of 150A intermittently, right?

Do you have any advice on how to increase the max current?
