Controller (VESC 6 based) dont like small motor

Submitted by matrixgti on Mon, 2024-01-29 21:27

Hi All,

I have my own version of Vesc6 with same components of Trampa Version, different layout.

It work like a charm with an 8 pole 500W inrunner at 48V , perfect current readings, smooth start etc

I tried to run a 100W  outrunner motor ( https://www.faulhaber.com/en/products/series/3216bxtr/ ) at 24V with orrible results.

The resistence measure are ok and coherent with the datasheet, it correctly measure the Lambda and the motor slowly spin as usual .

[Solved]Command the throttle (ADC1) with a DAC

Submitted by captaintoon on Sat, 2024-01-27 23:41

Dear all, for a personnal project i try to command the throttle of my vesc with an arduino. I plug on the arduino a DAC that i link to ADC1. Until here everything is fine. But impossible to spin the motor.

With a traditional thumb throttle is working fine. With my DAC is not.. I check i have 3 V in output and parameters ins VESC tool is ok.

Do somebody have an idea of where is the issue? The arduino is powered by the 5V of the hall signal. so i just plug the ADC1 command to the DAC.

Thanks for your help!

Spin motor at constant ERPM while a button is pressed

Hey,

I'm new here and have a question: Is there any way to configure the VESC so that it will try to hold the current ERPM while a button on the remote is pressed?
Or alternatively if that's not possible: Can the throttle position be mapped to ERPM? (instead of the usual current or duty cycle control)

Back to back BLDC motors test setup

Submitted by smkulk on Tue, 2024-01-23 16:21

Hello everyone,

I have 2 large outer runner BLDC motors which I want to test in back-to-back setup. The setup consists of the motors connected to each other with adapters and a torque sensor in between. Motor A is connected to a 51V battery and motor B has 42V input connected via two different VESCs (SIX MKIV and SIX). The VESCs are connected with a CAN bus.

/Slow/ top speed

This question has been asked and answered,  but something does not make sense at all.

So I had a cheap normal controller on my DIY scooter with a cheap 1000w 10inch outrunner motor.

My DIY battery is "rated" by me for 36A. Its a 17S 6p NCR18650 pack.

So my top speed was 48km/h with the cheap controller.(GPS speed)

I installed my first ever VESC ( Flipsky 75100V2Pro) and WOW. Sooooo smooth and silent. Lots more torture after turning up the motor current way to much.

3Shul controller gokart

I am using a 3shul vesc CL1000 v4with a sotion mg138d motor with encoder. I'm using a 72 volt 38 ah battery.

I finally got everything together on my garage built go-kart and soon to be running into a few issues.

1st - when I run motor setup with a generic motor and the large option the detection just times out. I don't do any of the advanced settings but if I try to fill out any of the advanced settings it still does not work.
