Flipsky 4.20 plus with VX1 pro remote

Submitted by Tropicalstorm on Tue, 2023-01-31 21:30

Hello, I have a Flipsky 4.20 plus with a VX1 Pro remote setup running as a replacement ESC for a MEEPO NLS.  I am able to set everything and run the setup in VESC but my remote always ends up disconnecting for some reason?  The remote looks like it is still connected but the wheels just stop responding.  I have tried to change several parameters with no luck.  I have noticed in Tools, console that there is a Binding loop detected for property error.  Does anyone have any recomendations for this situation?  Thanks

Switching control scheme during opertion

Submitted by Ben Murton on Tue, 2023-01-31 02:57

Hi All,

I recently got back into using VESC's after a number of years out of the game. I have a very particular application this time around.

I would like to use the current control scheme for most of my operations, however, I would like to switch it into position control when the throttle is brought to zero. To hold the motor in a particular orientation.

I am aware this can probably be done by creating my own app. Is there any existing way of achieving this functionality?

Any insight is welcome!

Thanks!

What do the LEDs mean?

Hi,

I am new to VESC and using a FSESC 4.20.

I cannot connect to it via USB anymore. (It worked until a bit ago.)

The LEDs show:
- Blue: Permanently On
- Green: Off for 1 second, On for 1 second.
- Red: On whenever Green is on

Is this a special (intended) mode, or did I break something?

Are the LEDs trying to tell me something? (Also, where would I look this up?)

Thank you,

Chaim Lukas

Multiple VESCs, CANBus, Galvanic Isolation and Puffs of Smoke

Submitted by KirkusMaximus on Wed, 2023-01-18 00:55

I'm running at 50% success rate here and I need a bit of help.  I connected two Flipsky 4.2s via CanBus which ended in ESC death.  They did have two different batteries and I'm thinking the voltage difference might have crossed the two CanBus wires.   I tried again with two Flipsky 75100s and it worked with no issue, though the voltage difference may have been less.   Do I need galvanic isolators across the Can Bus to avoid any issues when using separate power sources?  Should I do the same even if using the same battery for all motors?
