PPM, REWIND and FORWARD in same rotation

Submitted by electrichydrofoil on Tue, 2023-10-24 19:20

Hi,

I convert a Mercury 9.9 to electric.

Propeller direction ist switched with the outboard gear, so the electric motor must spin only forward.

The Throttle should work like in a motorboat, with neutral, forward and reverse.

I am looking for a Setup of the PPM using Centered Control, but in both direction of the Throttle, the Motor should spin forward.

Is this possible?

Thank, for any Help

BATTERY_VOLTAGE_HIGH_CUTOFF_START // CUTOFF_END ?

Submitted by Andy G on Mon, 2023-10-16 18:41

Hi,

Are there still plans to implement "Battery Voltage High Cutoff Start" and "Battery Voltage High Cutoff End" that is, in theory, the exact opposite of the Battery_Voltage_Cutoff_Start // End script that is already implemented?  I realise braking will be less consistent when the battery is >95% full, but I cannot afford to keep buying / repairing VESCs.

Multiple questions about vesc control

Submitted by Tripod6813 on Sun, 2023-10-15 20:03

Hello all,

I have a project right now where I am controlling a vesc using vesc uart (https://github.com/SolidGeek/VescUart) and an esp32.

This works quite well so far. However, I still have a few questions that hopefully one of you can answer.

1. vesc uart does not seem to give me the battery level. Where can I find the function. How on a vesc this is calculated? Then I would just calculate this in my esp32 code.

Setting up flipsky

Hello. I am trying to setup flipsky Mini FSESC4.20 50A base on VESC® 4.12 to work with ardupilot (or PPM input). Should this be possible? When I have battery and USB connected, everytime I change And write Control type to be PPM it changes to uart. On help page it asks to restart controller and to teach endpoints. But how can one restart? I have brushed dc motors that I managed to get turning via vesc tool

Usb not working.

I've got a 3shul cl350 v3. Connecting it to my computer it says the usb is faulty.  I don't know how to figure specifically what's wrong or even see if the pins are making contact with the usb wires.  Is there another way to run a motor test or could I find the motor settings from another of the same motor and enter them through Bluetooth or some other way to get this qs138 v3 motor and throttle going?

Motors in PID control stops responding for a few seconds

Submitted by rcmower on Tue, 2023-10-10 20:49

Hello.

Have set up a tracked vehicle using two hoverboard motors in PID control mode. The motors are running perfect and very easy and predictable to control at high and low speed. However, when going downhill close to or at top speed the motors stops responding while going full speed for a few seconds, before suddenly responding again. This happens consistently when going fast downhill.

Have uploaded a YouTube clip where this happens three times going downhill.
