Custom PCB based on 6.4

i build a custom PCB based on Benjamin's schematic v6.4 in ring shape.
It is used in a DIY diver propulsion vehicle. I did small modifications (remove NRF, change some parts) and add a custom app to the firmware to use hall sensors for trigger and speed-adjustment.

Custom Hardware - FET shoot-through problem - oscilloscope captures

Hi all, I'm new to VESC project and have only worked with trapezoidal BLDC control before (no FOC)

I am testing a VESC custom design and it draws a very irregular current spike at the PWM frequency (20kHz).  The worst case is when the motor is at 0RPM but the spikes are still visible when the motor is spinning.  This is the input current measured over a 0.0025Ohm resistor with the motor stopped:

3 shunt low side resistor configuration based on VESC 6

Hi, I am planning to design a motor driver based on VESC 6 but I wish to switch the in line current sensing to low side current sensing. May i ask is it possible? Will the current reading be same as in line current sensing? If it is not the same, how can I change the configuration in firmware and if I have different current opamp gain how do I change it in firmware? Thanks

Where to order plastic sleeve for VESC

Hello,

I ordered a VECS from DIYElectricSkateboard.com a little while ago. I needed to get at one of the connections under the plastic sleeve, so I just took the whole sleeve off. I think that was a dumb mistake. Does anyone know where I can order another sleeve? I assume it's some type of anti-static heat shrink. I did some Googling but I'm only finding heat shrink tubing for wires. If I can't find any then I think I'll just 3d print a protective case out of PETG or ABS and be extra careful not to short anything out.

Need Your Help with PPM Mapping Remote during Setup

System:

Batteries: Ownboard 2P10S XT-60 42V full charge

Motors: Torque 6355

Switch: XT-90 Loop

 Input: RC Car Pistol Grip Transmitter and Receiver

eBoard worked until one of the two diy electric ESCs shorted out. I set up the board using vesc-tool and had no problems.

Now I'm using a flipsky Dual FSESC4.20

Plugged everything in and noticed the remote worked to spin the motors before running the vesc-project tool. Very promising!

VESC 6 with 3 phase shunts to ground instead

So I'm developing a higher voltage version of the VESC 6. The mosfet driver I have in mind is the DRV8353. This would utilize 3 shunts on all phases but they would be from the low-side FET to ground instead of high-side FET to the phase of the motor like how the VESC 6 has it. Would this impact function if I were to use the same firmware as the VESC 6 or would there be some necessary changes? 

4.12 Phase current/voltage sense mix up. Need assistance please.

So I made a mistake on my 4.12 VESC derivative I'm doing. I accidentally mixed up the phase and current sense signals. I have SENS1 to H1_VS, SENS2 to H2_VS, and SENS3 to H3_VS. I have SH1_A and SH1_B measuring H1 current and SH2_A/B measuring H3 current.

 

The correct schematics have SENS1 to H3_VS, SENS2 to H2_VS, and SENS3 to H1_VS along with the current sense opposite of mine. 

 

Bus bar and heavy copper PCBs

Dear All,

I am just involved in a power design and I am affraid that I will need copper bus bars and heavy copper PCBs. I am searching on the web and not found any bus bar supplyier. I have found some PCB manufacturer who say to manufacturer such PCBs but,  Can someone recommend me a copper bus bars supplyer? the same for PCB manufacturer 1oz-2oz thickness layer?
