I am using the VESC Tool to configure my Maytech VESC. Hardware 4.12 and firmware 3.40. I am using a 3S LiPo battery. The motor is Velineon 3500, used in 1/10th scale Traxxas RC car.
These are my BLDC Sensorless settings:
The 'BEMF coupling' and 'Cycle Integrator Limit' values were determined using "Detect BLDC Parameters" functionality of the VESC tool.
I have Maytech VESC HW 4.10 and FW 3.3, I am not sure why I can not use Bluetooth module either RN-42 nor HC-05.
It seems no data coming out of UART TX port. It does not matter if I select PPM-UART or UART only.
I need to know if it is the firmware or the hardware.
Hello,
I have a weird little issue with the E-step/scooter I'm building, here's the setup:
-Maytech VESC 4.12 (I tested 2 of these VESC's and both show the same issue)
-Maytech 6374 BLDC outrunner motor
-Throttle is a hall effect sensor throttle connected directly to the VESC via the 3.3V, GND and ADC pins.
-12cell Lipo 12AH (Multistar)
The vehicle drives perfectly, all the way up to top speed, the throttle curve is nice and smooth, from 0km/h to top speed (about 50km/h).
Dear everyone,
This is my first post on the on forum!
A couple of days ago a purchased a vesc from aliexpress and new powersupply. So now that im testing out my VESC, i sometimes get the problem that the datastream stops working and i have to unpower/power my vesc to be able to see the data again. (also sometimes it randomly reconnects and works again).
HW: 4.12
Firmware: ???(updated with vesc tool)
Hello to all
I had a maytech esc give me fault code drv, so i swapped the drv chip and it wouldn't power on, with the 5v line reading 0.9v. I checked for shorts, and c27 has 7v on one side and 0.9v on the other, I didn't change anything but now the 5v line is at 0.5v. any ideas?
I'll provide pictures of my esc if necessary, but nothing seems overtly wrong, aside from me forgetting copper tape and melting the connectors
Hi Everyone
I am running a longboard with a Flipsky FSESC 4.12 50A SK8-ESC4 on a 6S setup (2x3S in series).
in the manual it says it is compatible with FOC.
i haven’t tried it as I am scared by the warning that vesc tool gives about 3rd party hardware.
Can anyone confirm that this vesc is fine in FOC mode?
Thanks a lot
Jon
My custom vesc has arrived! And it works pretty well and stays cool even when delivering 2.5kW!! But when I throttle up to 3kW or so, the VESC software seems to be limiting itself. It does it around 50V/95% throttle or a little lower throttle at higher voltages. Here is a video:

Hello guys, I wish my first post in this forum were something more interesting....but well.....
I bought a generic VESC and updated it with the wrong firmware, now I can't connect to the VESC Tool and none of the leds are turning on.
What I did was just connecting the VESC to a 12v bench power supply, updated the firmware and tried to use an electric bicycle throttle to spin the motor.
Researching on the forum, it seams a common problem hahahaha but most people are able to resuscitate it using an STlink-v2.
I use this engine from Scorpion; https://www.scorpionsystem.com/catalog/aeroplane/motors_1/sii-55/S-5535-160KV/ and VESC 6 with AS5047 Encoder on a GoPed scooter.
