Wireless Touch Displays - large and small

Submitted by vadicus on Wed, 2023-01-25 02:59

Have been working on these displays for a while now and got some good progress.

Features:

1. Full color, high quality capacitive touch displays (different sized available - from 2 to 7 inches)

2. Wireless (BLE) communication (just need 5v power), VESC protocol supported
3. WiFi for seamless over-the-air updates
4. On board SD card slot for logging, etc.
5. Dashboard function (implemented)
6. Full motor detection function, quick settings, etc. support (in progress)

Current runaway

Submitted by gregoryk@veriqu... on Fri, 2023-01-06 00:59

We are trying to catch a bug in our custom VESC hardware. As soon as duty cycle goes just a little higher than 1% or 2%, we get current running away to crazy values - and then overcurrent protection goes off.

What can be hardware reasons for such behavior?

Flipsky 75200 + Flipsky 85135 12kw only 2kw output

Submitted by giver on Thu, 2022-10-27 21:00

Hello! Trying to build foil with 2x Flipsky 85135 which is 140kv
I Have 14s battery at 52 volts, so i'm trying to achieve 7280 rpm,

but maximum i can achieve is 5600rpm with duty cycle 98%, with very small amperage.

when i put it to water it can achieve only 1600rpm with 2kW at 30% duty cycle, amperage from battery is 40A, to motor is 130A. i tried all variety of functions, raising all available params to max values, in particular max amperage to 250A, which is more then max for this vesc. but no luck. this is maximum

GOESC will not connect

Submitted by Martym on Sat, 2022-10-15 02:15

Hi,

I am new using a vesc. I have followed a tutorial on how to using the "vesc tool" to program it with GOESC controller. The other day I got the motor to run on both my computer with the connection from the cable and then on the remote control unplugged from the computer. This worked at night and then the next morning. I then unpluged the motor to actually route the wires in the case where they belong and then tried to run it again and it would not work.

SAFETY ADVICE third party controllers with separate power and logic board

Submitted by JakeTheSnake on Wed, 2022-10-12 11:50

Hi all,

just wanted to share some top tips and safety hints with you regarding ESCs with separate logic and power boards such as flipsky 75-200 et al.

While I love the idea of separating logic and power boards for several reasons, you want to make sure, the boards CAN NEVER BE DISCONNECTED DURING USE.

Weird sound from motor

Hi, I am using a Flipsky 75100 (the older version) and I have paired it with a 2800w hub motor. I run the motor detection and setup input, however when ful throttle the motor makes this weird noise like some is hammering it. For the hall sensors I connected them correctly.

Diagnosing FSESC4.20 dead/weird phase (?)

Submitted by josephduchesne on Sun, 2022-09-18 23:52

I have an flipsky FSESC4.20 mini (50A), which up until today was working fine. I'm not pushing it too hard, just some bench testing with a 6S setup, 18A max current setting.

During a run (FOC sensored mode, AS5047 via SPI) today, the motor started jumping around rather than running smoothly and drawing the full 18A. I cut power in ~1second.

After that, the FOC mode hasn't worked smoothly.
