Submitted by Raja Sharma on Sun, 2020-06-14 11:23

i am using two vesc4.12 connected over CAN and with master i connected bluetooth. i want to rotate both motor in different direction.

when i send 255  at  x and y value. both go forward , and on 0(zero) both go backward but when i send 255 on x and 0 on y in that case also rotate in same direction.

can anyone plese tell to rotate both motor in different direction what data should i send and what setting should i do

complete data format which i am sending over bluetooth.{2,11,35,255,255,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,51,185,3}

VESC d/c's when driving motor

Submitted by bdrox on Sun, 2020-06-14 06:59

Hi, im running a Maytech vesc 6, Fw 5.1, using FOC. When I run the motor or any detection >10A the usb connection with the vesc from the VESC tool (Win 10) stops with the error "Serial port error, a device attached to the system is not functioning". When I run a detection with low amps (flux linkage or hall sensors) no error / result is returned. Has happened with multiple cables / computers, and im unsure what could be causing it. No faults show up in the terminal. Motor settings:

USB connection between Android App and VESC fails

Submitted by bb67 on Fri, 2020-06-12 18:18

My VESC 6 controller (Maytech) works fine connected via USB cable with the windows VESC tool.

Now I installed the Android app (via .apk file) on my Android 6.0.1 phone (Sony xperia Z3) and I finally found the correct cable USB-C (VESC) to micro-USB (Z3).

But no connection is shown, also I don't see any option for USB connection in the VESC app.

I tried "Allow USB debugging" and changing USB profile, also I set all app permission for the tool - no success.

How is the USB connection meant to be used, or activated?

PPM Arduino throttle AND UART Bluetooth Monitor AND brake lever for braking

Submitted by vescsci on Fri, 2020-06-12 10:55

Hello. I've searched the internet and the forums and cannot get a good idea if this can be done:

I would like to have my scooter use it's hall throttle, and it's brake lever for ebrakes and use the Bluetooth for monitoring.

My setup:

I have a VESC that attaches to a nano Arduino through the servo connector (which is attached to my scooter hall throttle). I use an Arduino, because I have a button that holds the PPM signal for cruise.

Emergency shutdown

I use my VESC-drive to control a rail-bound teaser-machine from a distant place. If by bad chance the RC-Tx drops out while the machine is running it will continue to move on.

Is there a setting that I did not find until now that turns the drive off or set it to minimum whenever the RC-Rx does not receive a valid signal?

This is a safety issue. Any suggestions to resolve this will be highly appreciated

Difference between the current, duty cycle and PID speed control mode

Submitted by tromes on Thu, 2020-06-11 07:51

Can somebody explain me teh difference between the modes you can select in the PPM  mapping and when to choose one more to the other, or point me to where I can find the discussion on that topic.  I am using a Trampa VESC to control a foil board motor, which mode will fit the best and why (definitely no brake needed...)

Dear forum,

I am new to VESC in general.

I am  a RC modell pilot since several years and a big fan of the plane Pilatus PC 6 Turbo Porter (Turboprop engine)...

I would like to simulate the startup of a real turboprop using BLDC motor. controlled by VESC...

The startup of a real turboprop can be looked up here for excample https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tegh5BBTtIQ

HELP!!! VESC 4.20 Dual with individual motor control

Submitted by teit84 on Wed, 2020-06-10 20:03

Hi

im working on an electric wheelchair.

I have two BLDC hub motors from an e-bike, fitted on the wheel chair, I got a VESC 4.20 DUAL, battery, and arduino.

my problem is that i need the motors to be controlled individually, from two separat analog signals, with the build in ADC on the VESC

im using a VESC 4.20 DUAL.... and i can´t get it out of CAN-BUS mode(i think thats the problem at least), and every time im setting up one analog signal, it basically deletes the other one I´ve just setup.
