VESC6 Motor stuttering/shutoff while accelerating

Submitted by AM3R0 on Wed, 2020-11-18 21:49

Hey everybody!

I am using the Vesc6 MKIV on a DIY Onewheel build with a Hubmotor called PHUB188. Sadly I cant enjoy the build cause the Vesc or motor is acting weird

You will find a link to my screenrecording from the Vesctool app here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zzUDhVAo0wAqm7aOa0zqpb0LGClon9VN/view?u...

I am currently using the Vesctool beta 5.02

Voltage spikes on BEMF scope

Hi everyone,

First of all - I want to thank asll VESC community for such great project and forums, where I can find answer for most of questions.

I have a working VESC project based on Paltatech 150 kw project (https://vesc-project.com/node/144 ) I succesfully managed to achieve max power of 14 kW, however, the motor I am using is an aviation 30(and 60) kW BLDC motor and I need to go further. I am now debugging the power stage since I have DRV FAULT after the power rises above.

FAULT_CODE_DRV but find it strange..

Hi all, I have a v4.12 HW vesc, and used that for half a year on a 8S diy e-skate, 2-3 years ago. then it has been off till now.

So I installed the new Vesc-Tool and found out the firmware was old (2.18) so blindly updated to 5.1 (without checking the HW version..)

The motor doesn't run anymore. and I have the FAULT_CODE_DRV every time i try to move it using arrow keys or trying the BLDC detection.

"Could not read Firmware version" when connecting via Bluetooth

I am having problems getting bluetooth to work. I would love to see my speed (somehow do not find this in the vesc tool on linux. But I know it works on the android app.

The bluetooth module gets power (measured 3.3v) And it gets seen when scanning - but when connecting: it connects but then gives me this error:

Vesc board on ebike

Submitted by tailele on Sat, 2020-11-14 15:08

Good day ,  i started a new project based on vesc board. Now i use a langfeite t8 , that Is a e-bike with two motors with 1300w each other. I buyed a ubox from spintend site and i think that this board Is a good prduct with 75 v and two different output for the two motors . Maybe i wrong somewhere with the configuration of motors, but there Is something that doesn t turn. As i Say the motors are inrunner type without hall sensore and from datasheet thet must give 1300w with countinuosu Power and 1800w with peak Power .

Maximize startup torque

Hi All,

I have been working on an electric snowboard project...

Having issues with startup torque, seems the motor is instantly saturating on load.

I was able to get it to work with a config a month ago but have since struggled to tune it.

Hi I'm hoping someone can give me a little information regarding running a setup with a 12s4p 21700 molicel charge only BMS...I'm not sure exactly what the dangers of running the lion pack without discharge BMS and since i'm using a VESC esc can I protect my battery through the esc in the vesc tool settings and if so PLEASE what settings do I need to focus on!

Electric motor from car alternator

Submitted by frontaleducation on Sun, 2020-11-08 19:39

I build material for the car training. This material is used in developing countries and should be inexpensive and mostly available in the country. I am developing a concept to build externally excited synchronous, permanently excited synchronous and asynchronous motors based on 12V car alternators. The alternator is a separately excited synchronous machine. By exchanging the rotor the other two motors can be build. Thus, the usual electric motors in electric cars can be demonstrated in a practical way. So, now my problem: I have already experimented with the VESC.
