motor output voltage vs input voltage

Submitted by rsarver on Wed, 2021-03-17 15:55

I'm running a motor that has a Kt value of 105 according to the manufacturer. I've got an input voltage of 49.4V (as read by VESC Tool software). Therefore with no losses and a max duty cycle of of 95%, I'd expect to hit RPM values of around 49.4 x 105 x 0.95 = 4928RPM. (I have the max ERPM software limit set well above the max I should ever see in practice, so that shouldn't be doing any limiting).

VESC Battery voltage discrepancy

I have a 12s4p setup with liion cells the pack reads 50.4 on two different volt meters and the BMS but my VESC 60HD reads 49.9 (98%)I tried another pack with the same result an old Lipo pack at 48.8 is read by the VESC at 48.3 so consistently .5 volts lower than the battery actually is. I understand that there are manufacturing variants that make the voltage reading not perfect.
Is there a way to correct this or at least get my battery to read 100%, like a custom battery con figuration telling the VESC that my full charge is 49.9 instead of 50.4?

I am using two 8.5 inch 350 watt wheel motors from a Gyroor Warrior G2 hoverboard controlled by Flipsky VESC 4.12 50 amp controllers.  An Arduino Mega is controlling both controllers via UART communications. I am sending commands to set the RPM of each motor.  The motors were configured with the "Motor Setup Wizard" to use FOC with hall sensors.

Currently I am powering with a 7S2P battery bank.  The motors were intended for 10S2P and I have such a pack ordered to see how much difference the higher voltage makes.

Using A VESC based ESC with another software

Hello

I am working on a project related to the design optimization of marine propellers. The objective is to design an interface for the data acquiqition and the control of the propeller's motor. I will be using these motor and ESC: Flipsky Brushless Motor Sensorless Amphibious Fully Waterproof motor 65161 120KV | 100KV 6000W for Efoil | Ejet boards | Ebike, and the ESC: Flipsky FSESC 75200 75V High Current 200A ESC Base On Vesc With Aluminum Case Water Cooling Enclosure For E-Foil Fighting Robot Surfboard AGV Robot.
