VESC Express GPS Logging frequency

Hi All, I'm working to get data logging sorted for my VESC project via a VESC Express module. I want to log GPS at at least 5hz (its a high speed project), but whatever I set the GPS module to send at (I have tried one module set to 5hz and another set to 10hz) the .csv log from the VESC Express shows entries every 0.5 seconds (2hz). I tried logging rates of 10hz and 20hz, which made no difference. Does anyone know if this gps recording rate is limited to 2hz, and if not know a way to increase it?

Search for the CAN protocol of the MTSPF7.5HK controller.

Submitted by caversou on Sat, 2025-03-22 09:46

Hi friends,

Could you please tell me which kind of CAN protocol is used by the MTSPF7.5HK controller of Maytech. I have purchased this controller and the corresponding motor, but they haven't arrived yet. Due to the urgency of the matter, I need to quickly set up a CAN communication system. I have tried to contact the customer service of the agent, but they couldn't answer my questions. Therefore, I need your help now.I would be extremely grateful if you are willing to answer me.

Detection failed

Hello all!!

Today is my 1st day of learning about my new VESC controller. After moving what I thought was a great pace with setting up my motor I ran into this

Detection failed. Reason:

Persistent fault, check real time data page

I'm not sure where to proceed forward to begin to resolve the "fault"

Graphing Flux linkage and motor input voltage

Submitted by stimbog on Mon, 2025-03-17 20:08

Hello,

I have a vesc6 edu and I wanted to plot the Flux linkage and motor input voltage waveforms in foc and bldc modes to confirm the outputs. I have the free version of the vesc tool and i was wondering how I would plot that data using it. I can't find these parameters in the real time data tab and I am not sure where else to look.

Thanks

Active braking without regen current

Submitted by stoibinger on Mon, 2025-03-17 14:17

Hi all!

We are working on a student project with bikes, where we have attached multiple devices to the battery, that also powers the VESC. We want to use the braking mechanism, but are concerned with current flowing into the battery and damaging our other attached devices.

Is the safest option to just set the regen current to 0? We still need a negative motor current to actively brake, if I understand the functionality correctly.

I appreciate your help!

Abs over current error

When I want to accelerate from stand still I lose all the power, the on off button flashing red for a few seconds then turns green again and the power comes back again and then the acceleration is still jerky if I get up to speed.

Any ideas?

I checked the logs but couldn't find anything specific that shows why this happens all the time.

[SOLVED] COMM_GET_VALUES on top of COMM_FORWARD_CAN not working

Submitted by yes_wecangogreen on Sun, 2025-03-09 12:48

Hi.

I am using VESC firmware 6.05 and 2 VESC for control 2 motors. I am using an ESP32-S3 board to communicate using UART with one VESC (main/master with CAN ID = 0) and connecting both VESCs using CAN. The secondary/slave VESC has CAN ID = 1.

I can control both motors, like setting their speed, using this Python code on ESP32-S3. I use COMM_FORWARD_CAN for controlling the secondary VESC:

75300 make high pitch after close power switch

I'm using Trampa Vesc 75300 R3 with 60V battery and Golden motor HPM-10kw. It have broken 2 time.

First one

Using Fw 5.03 permanent close the power switch. tyr to setup FOC and the flux linkage detected is 0.0 mWb then i update firmware to 6.05 everything working well then about 4 hr. I cann't see the status light anymore but there are high pitch sound from vesc and the 3.3 v is short to gnd.

Second one
