Motor Specifications

Submitted by Frizzaper on Mon, 2024-02-26 07:44

I couldn't find a thread cataloging this information or anything, but I recently had to disassemble my motor and actually remembered to count the poles and teeth on the gears.

I've got a Himiway Cruiser which utilizs a 750W Luxwange geared hub motor. This motor has 18 poles, and uses planetary gearing in which the sun gear is 18T, planetary gears are the usual 36T, and the ring gear is 90T. This gives it a 1 5.65 ratio, if I'm doing that equation correctly.

MTPA

Is it bad to use field weakening and MTPA at the same time?

why choose the "target" or "measures" option over the other?

the description in Vesc tool is scary talking about possible fire and locked breaks "if you don't know what you're doing".  I only know I have an ipm motor which it's supposedly appropriate for.

PAS + UART

Hello!

It would nice to have native system for PAS+UART for both pedelec and bt-module, then one could get a really clean setup for e-bike

but for now I would like to know how to make PAS work with Bt-module. i did notice couple posts about it. But I don't know how to do it..basically how to get to hwconf to change PAS pins from uart to adc

could someone teach rookie, how to code in vesc

Here is some info about it

Poor Slow Speed Control

Submitted by dcw_jubilee on Wed, 2024-02-14 13:35

Hi there.

I have some experience with BLDC motors, but this is my first time with a ESC Mini FSESC4.20, connected to a sensorless BM400 V3 2845/09 2100KV - INRUNNER MOTOR.

I have it connected to the VESC Tool software and I can read and write to the drive, no problem.

I my application (a type of eboard), I need a very slow (high torque) start to the motor, and the ability to ramp up slowly to a speed set by the user.

PLEASE HELP!! Bluetooth Error: Could not read firmware version. make sure that the selected port really belongs to vesc

Hiya guys,

I know this has been previously discussed but I have tried and tried with no luck.

New markerbase 75200 x 2 connected via can and with bt dongle.

When I first posted on Bluetooth connection worked and I was able to setup motors. A few minutes later it disconnected and when trying to reconnect I get the error message in the subject line.

I have since tried another dongle giving the same issue. Have also tried changing the rx and tz overawed seen in other comments but still no luck.

HELP! Underpowered motor!

Ok so I have a 60v 40 amp hour battery, Vesc controller, and my1020 motor.
Either way this setup should be able to push 3000 watts nominal, or 6000 watts peak. Or at least close to.

however my question is, I've adjusted a bunch of parameters and my bike is super slow maybe 20 mph and not even hardly torquey for that speed.

which configuration file I should change to make operate a VESC at 800 Volts

Hi everyone. I am building a 3 phase High Voltage ESC based in the HW4.1. I already build the hardware and tested it with another code I wrote for a 3 pahse Dual Active Bridge. All the stages of the power converted work as intended: power, gate driver and controller.

Now I want to use the VESC tool to control a High voltage motor: 800 volts.
