FAULT_CODE_DRV

Submitted by protontim on Fri, 2017-10-06 04:19

I recently bought a VESC6.  Out of the box it has been flashing the red led 3x.  To find out what was going on I went to the terminal mode and typed "faults"

The VESC returns two lines with regard to faults (it returns other lines too which I don't think are pertinent to the issue)

One says: FAULT_CODE_DRV

the other says: DRV_8301_FAULTS: No DRV8301 faults

It appears that this FAULT_CODE_DRV is keeping me from fully configuring the VESC.  What does this code mean and how do I clear it?

Help with Focbox firmware / bootloader upgrade [VESC TOOL]

Submitted by Enigmacpl03 on Fri, 2017-10-06 03:39

Hey guys,

So I installed new motors on my build and when I hooked up my vesc's to vesc tools, I received the error that my firmware was old and I needed to update. (FW3.26) ( HW410)

On my master vesc, everything worked out fine it is now running 3.29. My slave foc seems to show signs of a missing bootloader. I go to update the firmware it shows complete, the vesc shuts off but does not restart.

Could you recommend me a Button for turn on/off the VESC

Hi could you recommend me a button to control power between vesc and battery?

I connect the battery and vesc with xt60 jack, however I think it is not convenient disconnect jacks.

Could you recommend me the power button for this, I tried few buttons but all of them are not suitable ( after turn-on they are welding with noise and spark and push on button don't make turn-off because of weld).

VESC6 Tempermental USB/Serial

Submitted by protontim on Mon, 2017-10-02 22:27

I just purchased a VESC6 and downloaded the most recent firmware to it (3.29/HW60).  I am running it off of 12S with my voltage max set to 57V.  If I mess with it long enough I can eventually get the serial/USB connection established with the computer.  I then calibrate the first FOC settings (resistance, et al) and then press the button to calibrate lambda.  Nothing happens.  The USB/serial connection locks up and the VESC-tool looses all communication with device.  Re-establishing comm after that is quite a process.  It is a little better when running off of 9S, but n

Sudden kick (from motor current cut off?)

Submitted by darowi on Mon, 2017-10-02 18:56

Hi!

I have a 4.10 VESC running with a HK D5035-125KV motor (FOC) running on 10Ah 12S Multistar LiPo.

When I fully press throttle the motor stops with an awful skitting sound and a sudden kick.

The newest firmware ist installed and the current is limited to 60A motor and 70A battery. The remote control is properly set.

Any hints how to prevent this behavior? (Right now I am riding with a lot of throttle expo, but on some hills the kick comes in earlier.)

thanks,

Daniel

VESC 6 Hall Sensor Issues

Hello, everyone,

I recently got some new "sealed" outrunner motors for my setup and noticed some strange things happening with the sensored setup. During the sensored RPM range, the motors run very noisy and when riding, there is a noticeable vibration until sensorless rpm is reached. I don't recall having this with the previous motors (Alien Power System) but I don't see anything wrong with the design of these new motors.

Help is there an issue with my new Vesc 6

I need some help. I have bought and now built a Trampa electric urban carver. I connected everything, but I can't get the motor to run, and I think the Vesc six is the problem, but I am not certain.

The VESC 6 has a blue light and dim green when powered on, but no matter what I do or how I move switch on the wireless controller, the motor wont turn.

The controller is connected to the receiver as seen in the attached picture of the setup to show that I am doing everything correctly.
