App Bounty $200

Hi, I have Vesc 6 and VescHD60.  I would like to use the Wand to turn on/off  lights.

I can pay in cryptocurrency of your choice for a simple open source VESC app made available to the VESC community.

There is probably a better way, but my halfbaked idea is to use the Reverse signal from the Wand to only trigger lights.

Hold reverse....lights turn on, Hold reverse again...lights turn off.

Bring back BLDC mode!!

Submitted by Tony_Stark on Sun, 2021-08-15 09:59

Myself and many others prefer BLDC mode due to the sound, but also the acceleration is stronger and it seems more reliable (less likely to get abs overcurrent). However FOC is far superior at smooth takeoffs and working well with hall sensors. My friends and I would love if you could take a look at BLDC mode again and see what improvements you could make with everything you have learned so far. Cheers

PWM encoder support

Submitted by Ieton2hahw on Fri, 2021-06-18 05:47

I'm looking for a magnetic encoder solution that works from 0 speed and is robust to EMI for a combat robot. I think the PWM signal from an AS5047U will work for this. I'm interested in implementing the code for this and contributing it. I'm looking for some feedback on how to implement that.

About motor closed loop angular velocity control

Submitted by Roberto00 on Wed, 2021-04-07 02:18

I'd appreciate it if you could answer my questions.

Is the following possible?

(1)Give the angular velocity command value from Linux to VESC.

(2)VESC controls the motor in closed loop angular velocity so as to realize the angular velocity command value from Linux.

Kill switch feature through adc input

Submitted by Heddan99 on Sun, 2021-03-07 12:54

Hi,

We are several users using trampa vesc for our efoil boards.

We are really missing a kill switch feature. I understand it is not feasible in a Esk usecase, but in a efoil usecase it is very important for safety reason.

Would it be possible to add code so it is possible to connect The switch to one adc input and if it get 3 or 5v input it kill The throttle so it stops?

Thanks in advance

Motor-driven Haptics

It would be neat if you could superimpose an audio-frequency waveform on the motor current while the motor is operating.

This could be used to alert the user to things like low battery voltage, high battery voltage (i.e. you're about to lose your brakes), thermal rollback, or other faults.

External speed sensor

Submitted by Victor Bruun on Thu, 2021-02-04 08:59

Hi

I use a VESC to run my ebike mid drive. I would really like to be able to limit the speed of the bike to legal level in EU (25 km/h), but since it is a mid drive, the gearing is constantly changing and the current speed limit strategy is not suitable.

That's why I ask that the feature to use an external hall-type speed sensor would be added.

Adding a Openloop COMM Comand

Submitted by JulianT on Sun, 2021-01-17 21:27

Hi all,

i am also trying to get an answer by putting this to another forum. But maybe my question is so silly, that it doesn t deserve an answer...

Is it possible to add a open loop comm command in the commands.c ? Like COMM_SET_OPEN_LOOP (Current, RPM)

As far as i know the open loop is already implemented and could be used in the new firmware in sensorless mode but i need it in sensored mode and i need to change the current value while running. To do this a UART command would be great.
