IMU and balancing powertrain

In the past i balanced my powertrains with an oscilloscope and an IMU with analog output with some success.
Since we have IMU data and exact rotor tracking, it would be neat to show the IMU data in conjunction with
the mechanical rotor position. Mechanical position is easy, since it is accumulated electrical postition times two through motor pole count.
The feature could be implemented as a detection routine with adjustable RPM. Perhaps as terminal command.

Auxiliary power unit support

I'm interested in extending the range of my project, to that end I would like to know if the VESC has the ability to support an Auxiliary power unit generator.  to support the feature the controller would need to be able to first start and then manage an ICE powered generator. ideally this engine would drive a three phase motor/alternator in a manor similar to regenerative braking.  one of my many questions is can the controller direct power from onw motor to another while bypassing the battery?

Can you please add the password protected for the profile selection on the Android App. I am planning on using it on different kind of drivers, and i don't want them to have the ability to change the profile. All i want them to view the Main Speed and Power level screen. Lock them up with password please if you do not implement it yet.... maybe lock up all and only view the Speed screen only..

Emergency Brake.

Hi, I built my e-skate and i have mapped my vesc with your vesc tool.

i use foc mode and i'm very satisfied, but i found a problem : during downhill, if the bms interrupts recharging because the battery is fully charged,the result is that i lose brakes totally.

It would be really appreciated an help by your side.

(is it possible to disable regeneration when the battery it's fully charged? is it possible to control that by setting brake regeneration at specific voltage of the battery?)

 

Sinusoidal commutation

Sinusoidal control would be a decent addition to BLDC(trapezoidal control) and FOC. FOC sometimes needs a lot of tweaking and adjusting in order to work with certain motors. These same motors generally respond well to controllers that implement sinusoidal control. While it doesn't have the same potential of max torque per amp that FOC does, sinusoidal mode could help achieve something works decent enough with tough-to-control motors. 

Traction control with different motors

Hi,

On my scooter I run two different motors on two VESC6. But motors are different KV and even types(one 2kW outrunner with reduction stage 50000 ERPM,other - 1.2KW HUB motor 24000 ERPM). Would like to have traction control, as I have two vescs but cannot do that. Maybe someone could add extra option to have something like ERPM "compensation ratio" tab to make that work?

 

Locking for reconfiguration/reprogramming

Hi,

I was wondering if someone knows how to lock the vesc from reconfiguration/reprogramming through bluetooth or only allow certain devices to connect. So that when I leave my bike at a store while shopping not some funny guy will reprogram/reconfigure my bike.

Does someone also know something more about the bluetooth ignition key where a bluetooth connection prevents from current running.

id/iq Table input

This may already be a feature that I don't know how to access but it would be great if we could input id/iq table rather than just using a skew factor for field weakening region. If anyone can help me I may be able to return the favor with supply, manufacture or helping with any new motor design.
