Force Sensor for a e-skateboard

Adding 4 simple force sensors between the trucks and the deck will allow the ESC to detect how much weight, and where it is positioned.  This allows the board to detect if there is a rider, if the rider has left the board, or if the board is unbalanced in some way.  This adds a lot to safety features, and enables more capabilities.

Add support for dual H3LIS331DL accelerometer

Hi,

For my combat robot I need to measure accelerometer data from two H3LIS331DL accelerometers. According to the datasheet, two of them can be added on the same I2C bus (SDO/SA0-pin changes the sensors address). It also allows changing the measurement range (+-100g/+-200g/+-400g).

Would it be possible to add support for this accelerometer + allow reading of both sensors on the same I2C-bus?

Access to balance fault settings when using other apps for control.

I have a request to be able to use the balance faults when using different apps for control. My thought is to use the pitch or roll angle faults as a safety feature, to cut the motor off when the board falls over. My specific application in mind is efoil, but I'm sure it would be useful in lots of builds.

Duty Cycle with BRAKE then Reverse - missing option

I search over forum and not found this ( or not have lucky with search)

I would like use VESC FOCer like ordu=iary "RC ESC" controlled by PPM  and  DUTY CYCLE - and have ne BRAKE  ==> Then reverse

 

In "standard" ESC  if first you pres REVERSE throttle - ESC work in BRAKE - proportional force brake to REVERSE throttle pressed , if we hold permanent REVERSE throttle - CAR never go back

We need first return to NEUTRAL - and then again press REVERSE throttle , CAR start go with proportional reverse

 

PAS and ADC (minimum input)

Dear All,

I think it would be useful to add a new type of control to VESC tool and firmware, where the input is defined by the lowest input of ADC and PAS. This is a useful feature if someone want to pedal effectively but don't want to use the assist all the time, because he/she want to conserve energy for later or simply want to be silent. Or the ones who find the throttle input a more direct control of vehicle instead of the PAS, but want to keep that as an option during use. It also would block all the non intentional input from PAS sensor.

Dshot and uavcan protocol support

Would VESC support dshot or uavcan protocol? I'm adrone R&D and I need a foc esc. Pwm is good, but dshot is better. The telemetry on most blheli dshot escs is great as well, which can return messages of voltage, current, rpm and temperature, and supported by many flight controllers. That really helps a lot.

I'm not sure about whether the VESC could be controlled through the can bus using uavcan protocol or not. If not, I also propose to add the feature. It's useful when the signal wire is long.
