Hub motor e-bike not recognized

Submitted by olivierskypullc... on Tue, 2019-04-16 11:06

Hello everyone,

I have an e-bike whose controller is broken so I am thinking to replace it with a VESC 6 I have. The problem is I cannot get it pass detection. In BLDC auto detection it stutters, then beep and I get a detection failed error. The motor is an ABB 3-permanent magnet AC synchronous motor, wired in star configuration. I connected the neutral to the - of the battery. Its nominal power is 250W.

What can I do to make it pass detection ? I tried increasing duty cycle and current, it didn't worked.

Thanks in advance !

Olivier

Trampa boards online store

Good afternoon, I have made enquiry through the website but have not received a confirmation email. I am unable to proceed with purchase through the website as I get an error "warning ERROR GETTING RATES FROM UPS: FAILURE 111557 HARD UNABLE TO DETERMINE DESTINATION FOR TIME IN TRANSIT INFORMATION." on the website and cannot proceed to payment screen. Could someone please advise me on how to proceed as I am keen to get my order underway as soon as possible.

Many Thanks,

Jeremy

Iron less Axialflux Motor

Submitted by tobiokanobi on Sat, 2019-03-30 12:11

Dear Forum,

I've build a 3D printed Axial Flux Motor (okay the rotor is already made out of aluminum). The Motor has 24 stator coils (3x8) and 32 poles. (since the arrangement is a little different to radial flux it is really 32 poles (vs 16 pole paires). One stator drives two rotors (each has 32 poles). The diameter is about 160 mm. The windings are 3x0.8mm copper with 9 windings per coil.

VESC6 Issues: Battery current inaccurate, positive ramp time, motor current max.

Submitted by ESCam on Thu, 2019-03-21 22:50

Hello, I am experiencing some issues with my VESC6. Has anyone else seen these?

It seems to measure the battery current lower than the actual current to the VESC. I have verified with a power supply that the values in the RC benchmark window are accurate. The screenshot below is at max throttle, but it is inaccurate throughout the range.

VESC on 48V 1500W HUB motor

Submitted by jordanlow on Sat, 2019-01-12 14:52

As for the hardware, I wish to run the hub motor on vesc using hall sensor mode. Due to previous experiment of hub motor on other manufacture product which does not work. Has anyone tried it on hub motor and do I need to add on any hardware which is to limit the maximum potential voltage to the input pin? thanks

VESC75/300

The VESC 75/300 is now available for purchase. Benjamin is very happy with the final tests and we can so no reason to hold it back any further. The performance is beyond any expectations. If you have projects that require higher output power do not hesitate to pre-order your VESC75/300. This is a limited volume production run of 100 units. First come first served. PCBs will be RED with golden VESC-Logo.

Flashing via SWD works, but no green LED or USB enumeration

Submitted by vpl on Fri, 2018-11-16 17:48

Hi everyone,

I uploaded a custom firmware to my 4.12 Vesc via the Vesc tool, but after that the Vesc didn't reconnect via USB. So I flashed the firmware directly via an ST-Link V2-1 from a Nucleo board, which did flash and verify.

However I still don't see anything in dmesg when I plug in the USB. The vesc tool also doesn't connect or display a port.

Using ABI Encoders

Submitted by danielw on Tue, 2018-10-30 14:33

Hey guys,

I'm new to the project, and so far could set up the board with a tMotor Antigravity 4006 to work with PPM input and sensorless PID speed control.

I've been trying to connect an ABI encoder (AMT 102) to the GND/H3/H2/H1/5V pins normally used for Hall encoders. But I do not get any position signals, although I turned the encoder also to pass the Index mark.
Using HW 4.12 with the up-to-date firmware, and the VESC tool 0.95.
