VESC 75/300 liquid cooling

Submitted by niekvanprooijen on Mon, 2019-09-09 19:15

Hi,

I would like to use the 75/300 in a boat application. We now use a Plettenberg NOVA15 with the Plettenberg MST 60-290 controller and I think the motor can run more efficient with the VESC controller. As well as more option for controlling the motor (like speed control). Is the 3d file for the aluminium casing available so we can convert it to liquid cooling? I think this would be better to attach another aluminium block to the standard housing.

And the second question: is the aluminium housing connected to ground or is it electrically floating?

VESC 4.12 - Data loss on power off

Submitted by da_rul0r on Wed, 2019-08-14 16:43

Hello guys,

is it true the VESC 4.12 will lose its saved configuration parameters once you unplug it? I also read (offline) that this can be prevented by using the Vedder SparkProtection switch as it upholds a small voltage after it is turned off (I tested this with a multimeter on a Sparkprotection 1.3, but the voltage in off state was just about 0.02 V). Is my information correct?

Thank you very much.

Programming Vesc 4.12 motor spin only in detection mode

Submitted by DanieleRA on Sun, 2019-07-28 16:29

Hi to all the vesc project community ! I’m fresh to this and i’m At the final stage with a building.

Finally I’ve assembled my Esk8 and now I’m programming with Vesc tool.

But I think there is a problem with motor or maybe the VESC.

During the Motor detection it spin regularly but after it in the detection “Success!" Dialog box Under the Sensor voice it is Sensorless but the motor is sensored and connected.

Hello guys using THESAMEand SIngleMCU(stm32df4x)  it possible to hookup atleastan additional motor and driver to the ciruit, and customizing code to control two motors at once or thereeisntenough gpioleft or it is not advisable at all

Can't program bricked Vesc 6 over SWD

Submitted by Rc 44 on Thu, 2019-06-20 02:16

I’m making a build with two Vesc 6’s that was working okay until I went to update the firmware. One worked flawlessly but the other one got its power disconnected in the process. Now I’m with one Vesc functional and the other one only with the blue light on, and I can’t connect to it with the usb port, which means it’s probably bricked.

Fault: FAULT_CODE_HIGH_OFFSET_CURRENT_SENSOR_3 on VESC 6

Submitted by Jackl on Tue, 2019-05-28 14:48

Hi there!

I am running a VESC 6 on a dynamometer with different Motors. Very small ones up to kind of large motors.
Power supply is two beefy 12V Lead Acid Batteries in series, so we are around 24V. Motors are run in sensorless FOC, with currents up to 60Amps.

Now, my Inverter suddenly stopped working and I get the Fault: FAULT_CODE_HIGH_OFFSET_CURRENT_SENSOR_3 on startup.

It does not help, if I disconnect the motor.
