Insufficient torque at low RPM

Submitted by isso777 on Sat, 2022-04-23 21:13

Hi everyone,

I'm using VESC 75V 300A version from Trampa Boards to drive Motenergy ME0907 motor in sensored mode. This is used for an electric vehicle. We are testing VESC  as a replacement for Kelly KLS controller. VESC works perfectly and in pretty much every way it's better than Kelly, however there is one problem - insufficient torque at low RPM which is a deal breaker. Kelly provides higher torque.

Is there any VESC settings that I could tune to fix this issue?  Thanks

Sudden drop in speed after releasing throttle in FW mode

Submitted by shokrabi on Sat, 2022-04-23 15:05

Hi guys, I am using the vesc 75/300 with my sur ron build. When setting field weakening above 80amps the top speed is significantly increased compared to below 80a but the speed is not stable and fluctuates + - 3mph as well as sudden full braking when rolling off the throttle at top speed. This issue does not happen below 80a of field weakening but the top speed increase is not substantial.

Is there any related settings to smooth out the field weakening power that I can experiment with?

Thanks

Bluetooth LE not working with Vesc Tool 3.01

Submitted by Gatze on Fri, 2022-04-22 19:31

Maybe I'm missing something, trying to connect with Vesc tool to my Vesc 4.12 with a nRF51822. Tried on Windows and Linux. On Android everything is working. I can see the Vesc in the bluetooth options on both Linux and Windows and in the tab down in Vesc Tool while refreshing I can see only in Linux the Vesc.

Do I have something to do in the operating system it self like pairing or setting up the device ?

Using Vesc Tool 3.01

[Edit]

Already working in Linux, did not choose the right device in the dropdown menu after refreshing.

VESC is not working in ADC mode

Submitted by asnamp on Thu, 2022-04-21 06:53

Hi

We have 2 vescs. I am trying to do ADC mode for 2 motors. With one controller one motor is running perfectly. I tried the second motor with the second controller, that motor was not running in adc , with the throttle also.  Now I'm planning to try with lisp scripting. Can anyone tell what is the solution for the above problem and also can anyone suggest the code for the above problem? And also because our motor is surface mounted one that Ld-Lq should be zero , for me the controller showing large value for that, Can you suggest the reason for that.

Hybrid Generator Project

Hello Everyone

Here is an update of my Hybrid Generator Project that uses VESC. I am attempting to find out how feasible a VESC is for AC to DC Active rectification (Regen Braking).
My current issue is that the control modes currently available don't necessarily mimic the behavior of a traditional Passive Rectifier (Full Bridge). I need to find a control method other than "Current No Reverse with Brake" that decreases torque proportionally to RPM for a given input value.

But here is a first test with the VESC setup:

Multiple VESCs on the same battery

Hi guys, I really appreciate the VESC forum for the help received in the past posts. Now I want to understand if it possible using Trampa hardware to build a system with multiple controller connected at the same battery. For the moment we want to use a 13s4p battery pack using Trampa BMS. Is it possible to connect at the BMS approximately five controller of different type for example: 2xVESC 75/300, 1x100/250 and 2xVESC 6 MkV and other devices that drain current from battery?
