Motor controller commercial test benches

Submitted by lopezcontreras on Mon, 2019-12-16 15:31

Dear all:

We are developing our own motor controller. It is not based on Vesc firmware/software and use a PSOC microcontroller from Cypress. However we are followers of Vesc project because the great ideas are always discussed here.

We would like to characterize our the controller in a systematically way, not just but using specific motors of specific power. Do you know if there is a commercial Test Bench for motor controllers? any link? company? Any comment will be welcome.

Regards,

Joaquin.

Vesc 6.6 120a ADC2 pin out seems to be shorting..?

Submitted by beetbocks on Tue, 2019-11-26 14:23

Hi All

Im currently building a couple of BLDC powered scoots using a 6.6 vesc  120a version (maystar)..and im using 2x wired hall sensor throttle one for throttle one for brake through the ADC /UART plug..

I have built 5 scooters all the same but using the lower powered 60a flipsky vesc and this method has worked perfectly- now however the ADC 2 pin seems to have shorted on both VESC 6.6,,,and is reading 3v no matter the position of the throttle..  its worked initially then stopped

wanna make custom made esc and tool

Submitted by Vigneshwar on Tue, 2019-11-19 13:07

hey hi, i want to build an esc and need a tool to test motor characteristics..can anybody pls help me out.. i am a noob btw, pls dont bash me.. so any tips would be of tremendous help

i wanna know where should i start the learning process? how should i approach the hardware as well as the software

how to program the esc board, any source code available so i can look onto it.. it's a personal project.. so i wanna maximise the learning process

Maker X Mini VESC burned at 46V. My fault or shitty quality?

Submitted by smileandbeware on Mon, 2019-11-18 10:53

Hi all, I need some advice before talking to Maker X. So I had their mini vesc for a bit, running happily on a 10s2p li-ion battery. Yesterday I swapped it out for a larger 13s3p li-ion battery, and as I connected it, the vesc had a crackling sound inside and a puff of smoke came out. RIP. The battery was at 46V at the time, it has 20A BMS and a 30A fuse, so there couldn't have been enormous current going through for any reason. The vesc is rated at 60V, 30A, so everything should have been within limits.

Incorrect R and L detection?

Submitted by vadicus on Mon, 2019-11-04 20:49

I am using AMC1301s for voltage sensing, acs773s for current, and UCC21521DW as gate drivers in my design. The schematics is below.

All works except that motor detection seems to be producing wrong results. After detection is competed in FOC, the motor starts rough. Lowering Inductance and Gain to 1/2 values make it run start and runs smoother.

What am I missing? Some advice would be appreciated.

VESC with 3 shunt

Submitted by _johnny_ on Fri, 2019-11-01 18:57

Hi, i compiled VESC using ac64stm32 with hw_60 included. This configuration using 3 shunts so i installed 3x ACS758 on phase wires. VESC tool show mi that controller measured offset voltage at half supply voltage.

When i connected input signals to 3 potentiometer, only on 2 phases in vesc tool i saw changes.

My question is why i cannot see changing current on each single phase?
