Power loss after 30seconds.

Hello there. I am using a scramboard, 54.6V 13s battery and a converted alternator as FOC motor on a motorbike.

I have no hall-sensors (yet) and no temp probe(yet).

It works pretty well @ 100amp motor current and battery current. 45kmh . Good torque. Good braking.

But it boggs at startup.

Rpm is limited @ 35k erpm , but is dependent on the rotor current. How can up this?

More important :  when going uphill, after 30seconds to 1 minit, the bike slows down. Current goes down to 30amps.

I got a bit bored during the lockdown and ended up designing a tiny VESC.

Will be doing two versions, 2-6S and 2-12S (the 12S version will be a bit more expensive as the fets are much more expensive)

These are the specs for the 6S version:

Sailboat Controller/Motor/Generator

I was not able to find an acceptable solution for electric sailboat. The use case is unique and I found most sellers provide preexisting off the shelf motor solutions adapted poorly to the use case or engineered solutions not properly addressing the real world need. The solution if it existed would be 95% power generator and only 5% motor usage. I am not an electronics engineer but a software engineer, I do have some knowledge about BLDC inner workings from experience.

Maytech VESC 6 FOC turn off without fault at high erpm, blower

Submitted by gabrield on Fri, 2020-05-15 01:16

Hi everyone I'm using a Maytech SUPERFOC 6.8 with a 24V 15A PSU, and I'm using it to operate a bldc blower in FOC mode with hall sensor (auto recognition of FOC parameters ok).

The VESC responds well up to 60K ERPM - 90/93% Duty cycle approximately, and after the VESC shuts down the motor completely without signaling any failure.

To restart the motor I must press the stop button, set the PPM to idle and then raise it again.

The motor never exceeds the set current or others limits.

The firmware is the last available in the VESC TOOL.

vesc 4.12 disaster

hi guys,

i have FSESC V4.12 for 4 months and it was working great in combination with VX1 remote controller. VX1 receiver has VIN sens wire that is connected directly to positive lead of the battery for battery information on remote. so, today that pin came loose from receiver and touched 5v pin of CAN connector and now vesc wont turn on and now 5v rail is shorted the ground. ive checked only TVS diod and it look like its shorted too.
