Hyper-V No "New" button in the action pane

Submitted by Gheer on Tue, 2020-11-17 13:02

I have installed R2 and the Hyper-V component, virtualization is enabled in the BIOS.  My problem is there is no "New" option in the Action Pane of the Hyper-V Manager.

My version of R2 Enterprise installed is 64 bit and off the disk that comes with the MCITP Server 2008 Enterprise Core Training Kit put out by Microsoft.  My laptop is an HP dv7-3085dx

Is my custom motor inductance too low?

Submitted by perpetum on Wed, 2020-11-04 18:01

I am new to VESC and bought a Flipsky 4.2 to drive my custom motor.  The motor measured phase to phase inductance is 16 uH and resistance is 170 mohm.  I read in some forums that this inductance (only 8 uH phase to neutral) might be too low and cause very high ripple currents.  Is this a problem? Some forums recommend to add a series inductor on each phase in the order of 100 uH or increasing the PWM frequency to the order of 100 KHz.  Have anyone used the Flipsky 4.2 (or 4.12) with a similar very low inductance motors?  If so, any issues?  Thanks!!

Maytech SUPERFOC6.8 50A sub zero cooling for fun and burst power. Mosfet power loss?

Submitted by Gargazol on Tue, 2020-10-20 14:12

Hi

I have 2x Maytech SUPERFOC6.8 50A, and I’m playing with the idea of testing how much burst amp I can get out of them at different temperatures. I know I could just buy bigger controllers, but this is purely for fun and finding the limit of the units :)

My thought was mounting a copper block to the mosfet case on both sides and cooling this block with a peltier element. The hot side would be cooled by a CPU cooling block and a fan.

I am aware this is super inefficient and will drain the battery fast.

Problems with Maytech MTVESC6.12

Hello Friends,

Talk about stumbling at the first hurdle.

I am trying to setup my Maytech MTVESC6.12 controller but I am unable to even get it recognized by Windows (10) or VESC tool. There has also been some funny behavior from the controller. So in approximate chronological order here is what has happened:

Firmware flash on new born board

Submitted by matrixgti on Thu, 2020-10-08 20:39

Hi All,

I almost finish my custom esc derived from 6.6 MkIV hardware , DiabloEsc,  I did it because I need a round pcb and I dont need external connectors like hall effect , uart servo etc.. just Can Bus, NTC and Power Supply, the only change in schematic is BMI160 Imu instead of MPU chip.

I'm not familiar with STM32 world and I would like a starting point on how to flash the newborn board firmware once assembled.

Trouble with FSESC75200

Submitted by Erik on Wed, 2020-10-07 19:09

Hi, I recently bought a Flipsky FSESC75200 to replace a 200A Maytech MTSVESC6.0 that stopped working randomly for unknown reasons.

Ive been trying to set up this new vesc for almost 3 days, but just cant get it to run properly. Ive read through many suggestions on the forum, but nothing seems to help much.

The motor I want to run is a 135kv Revolt 160sh with a 21s LTO pack (50.4V Nominal).

The best I could get it was to run okish with 100A. Above 100A I would get over current faults at 20khz switching frequency and just a loud screech at 60khz.
