VESC Original Hardware

Hi!

I've got a ~2016 "Enertion" VESC version 4.7 (red circuit board). I've used it for years on & off but wanted to connect to PC and see there's a new "vesc tool" these days... took a while but I got the latest version (2.06) compiling on mac, and got the VESC connected. When it connects, I'm told:

"The connected VESC has too old firmware. Since the connected VESC has firmware with bootloader support, it can be updated from the Firmware page. Until then, limited communication mode will be used."

I need some help, as my trampa vesc 6 plus (HW60, FW5.1) is currently unable to deliver power.

My setup: ebike, 12s4p liion battery, 530kV Assault 700 motor. Freewheel, motor brake is off.
VESC setup: FOC drive, ADC throttle current input. Max motor amp 110A set, OC limit at 140A. Mosfet temp limit start lowered to 60C, ends at 85C to counter the higher allowed currents. Trampa silicone cover for increased water safety.

What is UART_TX_DISABLED pin meant for on bluetooth module ?

Regarding to nrf52_vesc repo, this HW pin is different according to the module used.

What is the purpose, and should we just declare d free pin and that's all ?

In what case should we issue a COMM_EXT_NRF_SET_ENABLED command ?

Hello everyone !

I’m currently working on retrieving the energy from a low speed high KV generator. I’ve bought a Vesc 75/300 for that but I’m having troubles getting it going. Here are the specs:

• KV = 0,36 RPM/V
• 10 poles pairs
• Working Speed: 10-20 RPM
• Construction: axial flux ironless stator sensorless
• Currently hooked up to a 48V 100Ah lead acid battery pack through a 15A fuse

Here’s what I’ve done at first:

The 75/300 R3 habe an buildin PIN for switching the VESC on/off.

I like that feature, so i kick out my Antispark switch and have only a FUSE.

But i like to use mit waterproofe switch with buildin LED for the powerstatus.

How i can light on the LED from the switch when i powered my VESC?

I am using a Trampa Vesc 6.4  for an efoil with a 12S battery. The vesc is rated 80Amp continuous and the motor detection wizard gave me 100 amp, so that vesc 6.4 seems to match pretty well the set up.

The motor is supposed to be rated at 150A/50V so about 7.5kW, but I am happy to use it at a max of 4kW.

I have program the Vesc with the motor wizard detection as FOC using a PWM signal in current no reverse mode.

i got my brand new VESC and downloaded the new VESC Tool (2.06) to my Computer.

I succesfully connect with USB and got soon the Information that i have installed the Firmware 4.2, it is good and proofed blah blah.

When i want uptate read the Realeasenotes. I do that.

When i go to the Firmware part i only see the Version 4.2.

I can see in the COnnectionstatus line: Connected on COM3 in limited mode.

What is that?

Power button works only as turn ON button, but not working as turn OFF

I have two  vesc 6 (not in CAN).  On one vesc all is ok with turn ON/OFF, but another vesc don't turn OFF by the switch. I can only turn ON vesc. 

What do I need  to check?
