VESC 75/300 repair

Submitted by mah on Tue, 2025-07-01 16:16

Trying to repair my VESC 75/300

I know the STM32 is fried, so a new one is on the way.

All the power are fine, 3.3V 5V and 12V are all present after i removed the shorted stm32 and 2 fet drivers.

But some things i'm still wondering about.

1: What firmware should i flash with?
(and where do i find that file)
The PCB says version 3.1

2: These transistors, does anyone have the exact part?

Vesc Express show up as "Serial ESP32" when connecting to USB.

Hi!

I've been using my Vesc express togheter with a Ennoid HV bms to do logging. Its been running for a couple of weeks but today I lost contact with it over wifi and BLE. Its connected to via CAN and when I connect the USB it shows up as Serial ESP32 \\.\COM15 in the VESC tool.

Does Trampa BMS work with multiple VESCs?

Submitted by kylerlaird on Sun, 2025-04-20 03:57

I want to use a Trampa BMS in a project with (at least) four VESCs.  I realize it uses CAN, so every VESC should be able to get the BMS status.  Is there some coordination for limiting usage, though?  If two of the VESCs aren't drawing much current, I want the other two to have the full current available.  I don't want to simply limit each one to using one fourth the available current.

VESC with chinese absolute encoder

Submitted by davide.marzatic... on Tue, 2025-02-04 11:43

Hi, i would like to use VESC 6 with this absolute encoder:

https://www.mosrac.com/products/s-series-magnetic-encoders/

these seems to be the communication protocols it supports:

S-SSI(1)
BS-BISS-C Standard(2)
R-RS485
A-RS422
T –T485 (Tamagawa compatible)(3)
D-BUS (high-speed bus)
P–PERIOD (periodic transmission)
B–BISS-C [non-standard]

im super new with encoders, any possibility to make it work with VESC tool?

2xVESC6.0 with identical T-Motor different start up result

Hi VESC hard-core nerds, supporting crew and developers,

I've one of the very original VESC6.0's and recently bought recently a newer version VESC6.0MK. They are used to control T-Motors MN705S, KV140, 28mag poles (or 14 pole pairs). Both originally sensorless and no temperature compensation.

The troubles I had:

* Current control: none (all good ;-) )

Available connectors

Hello again,

I want to know the type of connectors and the possibility to buy.

The packages does not contain the connectors for using ADC.

As I wrote ( other part in the forum ), I failed with PPM and so I try to use potentiometer for power control.

But unfortunately there was no 7-pin connector cable with the controller and I do not want to solder on the board.

I hope I can use forward and reverse with one poti ( or analog voltage ) in ADC input.

Vesc 4.12 won't connect thru usb

Submitted by Bergecorp on Sat, 2024-07-06 04:31

I've acquired a few 4.12 Vesc with 2.18 firmware. Was able to reflash one using stlink. The other using the same process will not connect with usb or stlink. It will briefly connect stlink but before I can flash it disconnects. Unplug, wait a day and I get another 2 second window before it won't read again. Curious to know what the issue may be.

I've tried the canbus method, using the working vesc as an stlink, any other methods I might have missed ?
