75V 300A VESC Max current and Temperature Rise

Submitted by RanjithBalu56 on Wed, 2023-12-27 07:11

I have a 75V 300A Original VESC, recently I have tested it with a 5kW motor to its peak current of 100A at 48V for about 2 hours, where I noticed there is a instant rise in temperature of the mosfets and they stayed between 85C to 92C even with proper heat sink and a fan for cooling. I thought of testing the same hardware with 10kW and 15kW motor rated for 48V. my concern with the hardware is will it be able to withstand them 200A and 300A continuous for at least about 2 hours minimum.

VESC HD-60T detailed specs (auxiliary power)

Hi!

I have two VESC HD-60T which I use for a project driving 4 motors, a couple of servos and a Rasberry Pi 4B. I try to figure out if I need additional auxiliary power or if the built-in converter is enough.

As for the specs I only find the information given by Trampa (https://trampaboards.com/vesc-hd60t-twin-p-29152.html):

- 5V and 3.3V supply for external devices

VESC 6 MkVI HP max current limit

Submitted by onluckyy on Wed, 2023-11-01 20:08

I wanted a bit more startup torque on my VESC build and was wondering if the current limit can be pushed a bit more than 160 motor amps safely. I've red that the VESC 6 MkVI HP uses IRF7749 n-mosfets (https://www.mouser.de/ProductDetail/Infineon-Technologies/IRF7749L2TRPBF...) which are 200A rated and for 375A/800A pulses so 200A should be fine or how does that work?

SOLVED - Sensor Voltage Switching on VESC 6 MkVI?

Submitted by UAMTec on Tue, 2023-10-10 02:25

I'm trying to connect AS5048A encoder and I would like to run it from 3v3 as is suggested for reduced noise. VESC documentation states to switch the sensor voltage from 5v to 3v3 using a physical switch on the board, but on my MkVI this doesn't exist. There is reference online to automatic sensor voltage switching on the VESC 6 EDU version but I wasn't able to find anything further. V+ on the sense port is currently outputting 5V, how do I change that?

Thanks, Matt

Torque Ripples with AC Servo Motor and Trampa VESC6 MKI

Hello everyone,

i'm trying to run a Panasonic Servo Motor off a Trampa VESC 6 MKI i have laying around from an old eMTB project, however i cant get to run it smoothly. My goal is to setup a direct drive racing simulator wheelwith the OpenFFB project.

The Motor i'm using is this one (well it has a different product key but difference is only in encoder and shaft config): Motor
