VESC 100/250 Bluetooth not showing up

Submitted by JumpinJackFlash on Sun, 2022-10-09 19:03

Hi,

Hoping someone can help me. I have only just started playing with the VESC. I can connect fine via USB to my laptop and have updated to the 5.3 firmware. No matter what I try though I cannot read the Bluetooth signal and I was under the impression that BT is native on this VESC unit?

I was expecting to at least read a BT signal but I cannot and I have tried multiple phones. I have moved to an area miles away from any possible interference.

Vesc EDU non beta firmware?

Submitted by Rick van der Sloot on Sat, 2022-10-08 07:50

How to get firmware for the VESC EDU boards which can be used with Vesctool 3.01?

Vesctool 3.01 states that it doesn't have a suitable firmware for the hardware version.

Upto now I used the Beta Vesctool, but there the HFI Plot doesn't work, which does work in 3.01.

But 3.01 goes into 'limp' mode because the firmware on the board is not supported.

So tuning HFI voltage will become very labor intensive as switching/starting  VESC tools on my Windows machine take ages.

Best regards,

Rick

StartUp in OpenLoop with Duty Control really jerky

Submitted by tobiokanobi on Thu, 2022-09-29 07:22

Dear VESC Team, Dear Usual Suspects,

We are still testing our two motor setup and try different configurations (28 mag polepair) Hemotec 120.05 kv 135; 150A cont; 180A peak.

We control it via UAVCAN.

If we use "duty cycle" as control mode, the ramp up is really jerky, the motor tries, but needs multiple attemps to go up and running....(start, stop, start, stop...)

2 VESC 100/200 single power on switch

Dear Community,

I've two VESC 100/250; I'd like to use the "ON/OFF" Switch Function, but only one switch for both. I've found this thread#

https://vesc-project.com/node/1547.

If I understood right:

You take a common ground from one VESC route it through the button and then split it to the Switch Contact PIN#3 of VESC#1 and VESC#2

as title states is there any list of the variations of the vesc6 and the differences/changes though out its versions ? im curious if they are major differences that affect performance or just added features (example spin to start etc) that some people may not need.

Thanks in advance for any information on this.

i see at least 4 versions?

6.4(first?)

6.5(plus)

6Mk5

6MkVI (current version offered on trampaboards)

VESC 6 MK IV circuit question

Hey there!

My name's Max, an electronics's engineer from the UK. Long story short, I rode a onewheel about a month ago and became instantly obsessed. Like most, I can't afford one, but I can build one! I've built a self balancing unicycle before, and en ebike controller from scratch. I was thinking I'd have to do the same for this, but very happy to come across the VESC. Leveraging the open source firmware is going to be a life saver.

VESC6 75 - any issues?

Anyone managed to get these working? So I have 3 of these and I can’t get the Android Vesc Tool to recognize it as being a valid Vesc item. It says it’s beta (6.0 Beta 53) and the vesc tool is not beta so I should update the firmware urgently, plus it won’t let me setup the motor/wizard. It stops at Detection. 'All vescs must have the latest firmware to perform this function'. Then, 'Could not read motor configuration'.

VESC 100/250 won't go full duty cycle

Hello vesc team,

I'm building an ebike with the 100/250 esc. I have an issue where at about 82% duty cycle will start to lose sync with the motor and if pushed beyond 82% will current fault. This testing is done with the motor freewheeling.

The Setup:

    20s battery pack
    GMAC hub motor
    FOC mode running at 30Khz
5A motor current and 20A max current for testing

Things I've tried:
