I have been having a few odd issues with my board that i have been trying to diagnoise.. one of those being it automattically shutting off exactly 30min into a ride... (decided to set a timer after the 4th time) before that i was trying to see if i can log and see whats going on when this happens.. and the other issues.. however i go to select my directory and it appears for a second then disappears.. so i entered the dir manually and made sure it exsisted. I would then check start logging and then the vesc app will crash instantly...

Dead zone after 50% increase

Hello everyone, please help me figure out the dead zone on the controller. The problem is that when the stick deviates from the center by more than 50%, the speed does not increase, that is, 0-50% of the active zone scale, 51-100% is inactive (I control ground equipment from the remote control, the values on the remote control change 0-100% of the indicator, in the VESC program in the PPM display section it is the same for everyone 0-100%. But in life it seems that the speed increases by 50% and does not increase further, help with advice on where to look

speed value with geared hub motor

Hello,

I have a emove roadrunner se. This has a 36 volt geared hub motor, with 30 poles (according to the company) I don't know excatly what model of motor they use (I assume it's re-branded). I do know it's a geared hub motor.

In vesc tool I set it up as a direct drive and have the wheel size correct but it shows the speed as much faster than I'm riding (Max 20mph, showing 50+). do I need to use a gear ratio since it's a geared hub motor? Or is there some other setting I'm missing?

USB command and ADC1 Throttle

Submitted by JWilson on Fri, 2024-08-09 23:24

Forums:

Hi All,

I have seen people able to setup multiple inputs but I have not seen them using the desktop tool to send commands with an analog throttle connected. Currently the VESC only reads the ADC throttle and completely ignores the button presses from the desktop tool (erpm, duty, brake, etc). Is it possible to have both work?

Thanks

Hi Everyone,

For the last 4 days I have been trying to get a image to burn to a SD card to run VESC tool on a raspberrypi.

Using this link.  https://github.com/vedderb/vesc-os-pi/blob/main/README.md

For this I am using a windows pc running a Virtual Machine.

But for the life of me I can't seem to get it to compile properly.   I have got it all to the point where all the commands seem to work then the last command

Flipsky can't connect to vesc tool

Submitted by vescbeginer on Fri, 2024-08-02 20:16

Forums:

Hello,

I have weird problem. I plugged flipsky to PC but vesc tool said
"Could not auto connect. Make sure that the USB cable is plugged in and that the VESC is powered".
I tried on different USB cables and diffrent USB ports but result is always the same. I used auto connect and reconect last conection and nothing.
Earlier everything works fine (I use the same PC, the same vesc tool, the same windows etc.) but today always show up this error.

Flipsky 75100 works fine with the motor but can not connect to vesc tool.

Help "ERASE" Lisp Script that crashes VESC TOOL (terminal command?)

Submitted by ebikebuilder_yt on Thu, 2024-08-01 20:16

Forums:

i have a LISP script saved on my VESC,  it was printing out a message in a loop.  It causes my VESC TOOL to become laggy and stop responding.

Now, I have a problem where I cant seem to 'ERASE" the script and stop it.. it appears to continue running even after I restore the VESC to default parameters. So, i am unable to ERASE the script,  and it causes my VESC TOOL to stop responding when I go to the LISP tab.

Can I run duty sweep without laptop?

Hi guys, I have a VESC and a flipsky motor on my kayak. I'm trying to gather efficiency data throughout the speed range of the boat.

I want to use the duty sweep or current sweep function in the desktop tool, but can't risk taking my laptop out on the water in my kayak with me. Is there any way to do this from the iOS app?

Maybe something from within the dev tools, such as a script? I see the duty_ramp_functional.lisp example, but not sure how I would run it from my phone. I'm new to all this.

Thanks, Gavin

foc_motor_ld_lq_diff unit, min, max

Forums:

According to parameters_mcconf.xml, the foc_motor_ld_lq_diff (Motor Inductance Difference) is a parameter between -10 and +10, with a default of 0, and µH as a unit.

But in the UI, I often get values around 50, and never anything negative. in vesc_mcconf.xml however, I see a value of 5.664e-05 being stored. If I interpret that as Henry, this is 56.64 µH.

S0 what are those min and max values -10 and +10, and what unit is it really stored in? Somehow parameters_mcconf.xml and vesc_mcconf.xml don't seem to agree.

Or am I missing something?
