Urgent Help Connecting TS5700N8501-like Magnetic Encoder

Hello,

I'm trying to connect this magnetic encoder to use for FOC mode. My understanding is it's like the TS5700N8501 encoder, also with an output of RS-485. I believe their protocol is similar to the TS5700N8501, but I can't even find any documentation or tutorials on how to use even just the TS5700N8501. I can't paste the datasheet, but here are the protocols:

Hello everyone, and a wonderful and happy VESC year! ;)

I’m using the version of VESC Tool I downloaded from the Apple Store, and I’m currently setting up my first board. Do you know if the iOS version is as stable as the Android version ? I’d like to know if it’s possible to use VESC Tool on my phone (iPhone) to configure my board and ride..., but is it also possible to use my Linux setup and the application to work on the same board without causing issues with my VESC configuration ?

FOC is unstable with large Outrunner and had a hardware failure.

I have a  new 100/250 driving a  FreeRCHobby 120-100 (12kW rated) which is driving a Rotrex supercharger.   I need about 9kW at 6krpm (14 poles) which is about 65V and 150amps with this motor.  I ran the FOC setup for a large outrunner.  It worked fine with the motor unloaded, but when I hooked up the supercharger, it tripped out at around 4000 RPM due to an absolute over current error.  I lowered the absolute current to 250 amps while I debugged the problem.  FOC Setup had it at around 420.  It turns out the PID loop appears to goes unstable over 4000 rpm, with the mot

Unable to Make Changes in VESC Tool – field weakening Options Missing

Hi everyone,
I’m using a VESC controller, and my motor is configured in FOC mode. When I open the VESC Tool, I see this screen (attached image), but I have no options to make any changes. Everything appears locked or missing.

I’d like to understand:

  1. Is this an issue related to the firmware version or the software version I’m using?
  2. Did I configure something incorrectly?
  3. Could the controller be in some kind of “read-only” or restricted mode?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Issues with Brakes, M5 Display, and Speed on VESC 75100

Hi everyone,

I need some help with a few issues in my system. I’d appreciate any guidance:

    1.    Brakes connection to the controller:

I connected the positive and negative wires of the brakes (which are supposed to cut off the motor when pressed) to the ADC2 input – positive to the positive terminal and negative to GND.

Is this connection correct? If not, how should the brakes be connected to work properly? Additionally, I’d appreciate a detailed explanation of how to set up the brakes correctly on the VESC 75100.

Vesc tool not working on Windows 11 Surface Go tablet

Submitted by Kamil368 on Tue, 2024-11-19 00:09

Hello,

I am trying to use Vesc tool for Windows on Microsoft Surface Go 1 tablet with Windows 11.  It seems to have a problem adjusting to the screen size, and some areas of the vesc tool window are not reachable (it is bigger than the 10" tablet screen, and it is not possible to scale down the window). Has anyone encountered this problem? I have tried updating the Vesc tool to the newest version, but it did not change anything.

Many thanks for any tips or ideas!
