I use the VESC4 board, but when I connect the board and the computer by using mini USB, my computer can not recognize the USB. Could you please tell me how to solve it?
I am confused a bit: torque control mode controls the current (and hence the torque), but what about duty cycle? Does that control the duty cycle of current, supplied to the motor?

I've been trying to spin a DC motor with a VESC in speed mode.
I have a position feedback thanks to an ABI encoder but I can't get a speed feedback. In Vesc tool. the ERPM and tachometers stay to zero (with "realtime data" on).
Does anyone know what might be the problem ?

I have built a power assist device for manual wheelchairs similar to a commercial product called SmartDrive MX2. I was running my first test the other day and after hitting a bump at speed. After which the throttle stopped responding. After I power cycled the VESC the throttle started working again. Later after hitting the same bump at about the same speed the throttle stopped working again. This time I couldn't get it working again. I hooked the VESC to my computer and it runs just fine. A volt meter across the contacts of the hall effect sensor didn't show any

I am undergoing an electric scooter conversion project (similar to what a friend did with excellent results). I have brought all the kit and attempted to bench-test it but I cannot get it working.
Although I am a 23 year time served electronics/electrical technician, I have no experience or knowledge of these controllers, motors or software etc, I'm assuming the problem is something to do with software settings, or incompatible throttle etc. This is my kit:

I've been using a Vesc 4.12 on FW 3.38 using a AS5047D encoder over the SPI port and it worked really well (I had to set the AS5047_USE_SPI_PINS to true in the firmware).
Since I updated to FW3.40, I can't get the encoder to work over SPI, (I made the same modification in the firmware). I don't understand why it's not working anymore, could anyone help me ?

I don't have any experiences with BLDC motors yet, but already informed me about the principle function. What I am lacking is above all experience and I really hope you can help me with that. The project I have to do has different specifications than models or motorized boards, so it is difficult for me to find the needed information.
