I have fitted the largest motor I could find to my fiskars stay sharp push reel mower to drive the reel only. Using a vesc v4 to drive the reel and using an Arduino to give me throttle on a switch. Working in pid mode perfectly.
Now I've been thinking, if I got another vesc and motor to drive the wheels and these two vesc's could communicate on can bus, could the reel drive vesc tell the wheel vesc to slow down (trim max erpm) when it comes under load? I feel i had the drive motor with a thumb throttle it would be easy to feed it too hard and stall if we got a tough patch.
Any ideas? Would this work or needs extra development?
