have done the first test runs on a 4kw kick scooter i built so far very impressed with the vesc 6 .

two questions. how do i improve the acceleration speed ? motor is set to 90amps ,but does not draw more than 50amps 

second question, there is a lot of noise showing on the graphs for the motor temp, i am not using a sensor , do i need to pull the temp pin hi or low ? to stop the noise.

I have the same problem with the AS5048A and the AS5047D.
they reads position between 180 and 360 very well and not at all 0-180.

Connected as follwing:

SCL/SCK  -> HALL 1
A2/MISO  -> HALL 2
SDA/CSn  -> HALL 3
A1/MOSI  -> VCC
GND  -> GND
5V - > VCC

I have tried to compile the latest FW with suggestions from pf26 at the vedder forum, but that had no effect on the outcome of the readings.

Hello everyone,

I am controlling two VESCs 4.12 from a microcontroller. Both VESCs are connected through CAN bus (2 wire) and share the same battery (10s hoverboard battery).

Each VESC is connected to a hoverboard motor (10 inch), with hall sensors and configured in FOC mode.

Today I updated my VESC 4.12 with the latest firmware and switched from the old BLCD Tool to the new VESC Tool.

I noticed there is an option for Timeout Brake Current, set in amps.
Should this work as a fail safe when, for example, the battery of my remote control dies?
Is this motor current or battery current?

Which is a good value to not get thrown off the board, or being imbalanced completely, but still can come to a good stop?
I'm running a single 190kv engine on 12S li ion battery.

in the interest of learning, what the difference between current mode and duty cycle ?

duty cycle is nice an smooth but apparently not ment for ebike use. why ? and why no brake regen assign to adc2 ?

current mode comes in savage and strong, with a very short throttle range making slow riding on a scooter difficult. how to tame it down to work like duty cycle ?

My throttle goes from 0.84v to 2.6v but at 1v the motor is spinning close to 80% duty cycle. How can i get a more linear response from the throttle? I tried setting the mapping to off/current/duty cycle and pid speed and barely anything changes. I tried adjusting the throttle curve but that just delays when the motor starts spinning.

Hi, I am trying to find the hall sensors filters on this VESC flier model. I will Use encoders and would need to remove them. Looking at the board schematic on github I cant get may head around this board.

I am having issues with the brakes failing while the motors are really hot (deliberately hot to test functionality) around 90 degrees (thermistors in coils) 
And usually only if I have the motor amps set high. Eg above 50A or above.
That flat zone is where the brakes stop working, (-0.1A working). Brakes will fail repeatedly at around 90 degrees but not before.

I use VESC tool to test DC motor.If i set duty to 0.7 or high ,can not start motor. If  I set duty to 0.2,it’s ok,and then gradually increase the duty,it’s also ok.
