information to drive 400kv drone motor on ClosedLoop with AS5047

Hi,
I new on this wonderful project :-) 
I try to have information for drive drone motor with closed loop mode.
I have seen MINI4 project.
The idea, i build a new big drone with motor 400kv and 17inch prop.
With the inertly of prop with classical esc i have trouble for fast throttle.
So I thing used VESC to drive motor in ClosedLoop Mode.
What do you thing about this and Vesc can support Dshot / Multishot / Oneshot.
The Drone Flightcontroller is with BetaFlight Firmware.

Observer tracking fail

Hi everyone,

I tried to simulink the sensorless FOC observer Ben used in his code. I used fixed observer gain and I changed this value in a wide range (from 1000 to 50000), but the observer could only track the position in low speed and failed in high speed. In Ben's code, I saw him changed this value every observer update. 

Is this the key for high speed tracking?

Struggling in startup BLDC in sensorless mode

Hi everyone,

I'm a fresher about BLDC control I wanna do thesis about BLDC FOC sensorless control. I known about VESC project of Vedder many year ago and I really admire him. :D

But now I'm really confused about starting-up BLDC in sensorless mode. I read the code of firmware 3.7 but I couldn't figure out the method he used to start-up the motor. :"(

I designed myself a BLDC driver using DRV8323 based on open-source board of Vedder (not for commercial purposed). I had phase current and voltage measurement.

ADC pin voltage not zero

Hey all, 

Been having and issue with my FOCBOX where my adc pin is reading 1.2v and will not read any throttle inputs. I was using 5v on my throttle, but after learning the ADC input needs 3.3v, I swapped my throttle to 3.3v. The system was working fine for the last week, but I would notice that every so often the pin would read 1.2v, but now pin always fluctuates around 1.2v and does not change with applying throttle. Even with the throttle disconnected, ADC1 and 2 read nonzero values. 

VESC Questions from the newbie

Hey Guys, I'm new in the forum and I recently purchase a VESC (4.12) and I love it. I have a lot of respect to the creator!

I'm trying to decide if the VESC is a good fit for my application; and I have a few questions:

1. Just to clarify; VESC 6 is compatible with 6V Motors (min)? I can test 2S RC Motors with it?

2. Is there a way to configure the motor via UART?

3. Is there a way to configure the Input Setup via UART?

* I guess I want to be able to configure the motor without using the VESC Tool

Sub zero temperature VESC412 issues

Hello,

I have a different, worse startup performance of my setup @ sub zero temperatures. HW - 412, FW - 3.39/3.40, sensorless BLDC mode. I have a specific low speed and very high torque application, I was able to tune parameters to achieve a more or less a robust startup and further rotation above 15C degrees or so, but @ 0C and lower the motor is unable to startup at all. The thing is that @ old FW218 and with the same settings the system performs much better.

What could it be?
