Error on log-file recording: Could not get Positioning Working

Submitted by hpb66 on Mon, 2022-05-23 08:23

Forums:

I upgraded my VESC tool to V3.01 and also my firmware of my VESC to the latest version. Since then, I receive the message "Could not get Positioning Working", when I want to start the log-file recording.

Nevertheless, the recording works, however I'd like to know, what is behind this message.

I have a motor without hall sensors, however I installed an AS5047 encoder at the end of the shaft, which works.

Can anybody help?

Regards,

H.-P.

VESC100/250 - motor current setting ignored?

Submitted by tobiokanobi on Mon, 2022-05-02 13:27

Hi,

really a strange problem with the VESC 100/250 (two of them, on both). Whatever I try, I don't get the VESC 100/250 to run above 150A (~155A) Motor current.

Even though I raise the Motor current to 220A and the ABS Motor Current to 400A, at 150A maybe a little above, the VESCs shuts the motor down.

I tried to set the FOC

* advanced v0 and v7, enabled, disabled

* ABS Fuse slow

* High current measurement disabled/enabled

The Motor can hold at least 180A for 15seconds.

Running on 2x7s batteries.

Hii,

For my thesis am i making a electric scooter. Yesterday after i did the firmware update, a connect has lost. Today I i soldered it back together but when i wanted to connect the VESC to the vesc tool, it said "Could not autoconnect. Make sure that the USB cable is plugged in and that the VESC is powered.". The green and blue LED are together always on.

I hope someone can help me out.

Use sensors on the output shaft of a motor attached to a large gear ratio gearbox

Hi,
I connect an ABI encoder from the output shaft of a motor with a gearbox that has a 100:1 gear ratio. The BLDC motor is about 500g so I chose medium size in-runner in the motor FOC. When running setup motor FOC, the motor detection result shows it is sensorless. My guess is that when it tries to sense the encoder, the output shaft is barely moving due to the large gear ratio and the VESC cannot detect if there's an encoder. Could that be the reason why it is unable to sense the encoder? If so how can I fix it?

VESC Tool speed control overshoot

Hello everyone,

I am trying to control my outrunner AXI 2814/28 motor with the Flipsky Fsesc 6.7 70A controller using Vesc tool 3.01 under Windows (in sensorless FOC mode, BLDC mode is too noisy, which is crucial in this application). What I want to do is set electrical RPM here (via USB) and get the motor reaching smoothly this speed (the motor load is a propeller 11x5):

On previous versions of the Vesc firmware I implemented a cruisecontrol using a single actuator (thumb throttle) connected to adc 0. Not a big application, but it works nice. While on my bike I don't have to hold the thumb throttle all the time and can lay down on my triathlon steer. Of course safety is a big issue, but my brakes are always stronger then my motor and every little tap on the thumb throttle deactivate the cruise control. I used it for now like 10k kilometers without any hazardous situations.

experiment tab rpm ramp up and dual separate motor control

Dear All, Dear VESC and Trampa support Team,

I've two Motors set up Coaxial Arranged. I can obviously control each of the two with separate VESCs and Tools, each running on a separate Laptop and USBs.

If I would connect them via CAN, does the experiment tool support to set different speeds of each motor? (So only one Laptopis needed).

Another thing, most likely the more important one:

motor experiment does nothing

I'm using a flipsky 6.7 controller with a Maytec 8085 motor.   I am running version 5.3 of the Vesc Software  (HW V 60) and using version 3.01 or the VESC tool.  I can spin the motor using the PPM input but not using the experiment RPM sweep function.  The sweep function is plotting but no motor spin.   I'm a noob so maybe I don't understand how to correctly use this function.  Are there any videos I can watch or documentation.  Thanks
