VESC Firmware

I have two vesc 6 plus units on a tramp holy pro, twin 154Kv motors.

My problem is when I update the firmware from 3.57 to 3.58 it uploads , I wait for the lights to stop flashing and some, reboot and they still have the old firmware 3.57 .

That's using my laptop with vesc tool 1.16

The board is struck in slow mode, I can't change anything as it wants the firmware updated.

The phone app vesc tool does the same thing

What am I doing wrong 

I am trying to free up some pins for auxiliary pwm for fans / brake lights.
As timer 5 is mostly clobbered by critical pins, and timer 1,3,4,8 are also in use. timer 2 seems like the best bet as 3/4 outputs are available in my pinout.

I would like to switch over chibios systick to tim5 off tim2 so I can use tim2 for aux pwm. Is this a really bad idea?

Where can I find the bootloader? I’ve read that default-setup.bin is not the bootloader, and I need a .hex file...

I'm trying to configure my "app" and get an error, that my firmware needs to be updated. 

Two questions) 

A) Shouldn't that be my decision ;o)  How can I switch that off? Why can't I use an old FW? *silly*

B) Seems to be a bug again. Isn't that the latest Firmware?

Hello, friends, my firmware version number was 2.16. When I uploaded firmware to my VESC4 using STM32 ST-Link Utility software, USB could not be recognized by my computer. It was recognized before upgrading. Before uploading firmware, I performed a full erase. The chip address in the software was 0x8000000, size: 0x31. 5cc, 32bit data width, other default settings, I do not know how to solve this problem, can someone help me? the hardware version  is VESC4.11.thank you!

I'm trying to make an electric bike with vesc 6 (purchased from flipsky) and a 1720w motor. It's based on Tom Stanton's project. I want to have a switch to change between throttle and cadence controls. For the throttle the ADC app works fine, but I couldn't find a way to implement a cadence sensor without modifying the firmware.
