EScooter Xiaomi M365: VESC + DIY ESP32 board running Pyhton firmware

Submitted by yes_wecangogreen on Tue, 2023-04-25 02:10

I decided to unlock my Xiaomi Pro 2, by using the popular VESC motor controller platform. Also I added my EScooter DIY simple board to interface with M365 specific sensors, and it runs the firmware that implements the EScooter logic.

You can see the project page with my all technical build notes: OpenSourceEBike.github.io

I did this build with my Xiaomi M365 Pro 2.

VESC for Diver Propulsion Vehicle?

DPVs (commonly called 'scooters') are underwater vehicles designed for moving scuba divers through the water. Does anyone know any forks of the VESC project that aim to support DPVs?

For the uninitiated, modern DPVs have a waterproof fuesalage paired with a BLDC motor attached to a propeller and powered by a battery pack. Interfaces and throttle controls tend to be very rudimentary to avoid the complexity of underwater electronics and failure modes.

Thanks,

Badwiz.

Modular DIY electronics and software details

This modular and DIY system, replace the original motor controller and display, keeping the original battery and sensors. It is composed of three different modular parts:

Slow UART at high current.

I have an ESP32 sending  a PWM to vesc PPM (Spintend 100v U1) , ESP32 powered by VESC 5v . I use  it as a cruise control when on ebike pedal assist. I am using the SolidGeek library to send data to a display. Everything works great except when accelerating the processor seems to slow down I can see the data sent to the phone while riding. All the calculations slow down. When testing the bike wheel off the ground, the data is as fast as lightning! So current seems to affect UART performance?

My project is to substitute a brushed motor with a BLDC motor in an old dive scooter.

I've installed a brushless motor type Maytech “MTO6880-190-HA-C3” with a ESC type FLIPSKY “Mini FSESC 4.20”, using Arduino to pilot  ESC via PWM.

Aiming to simplify the project by means of eliminate Arduino, I've uploaded a custom firmware used in a commercial scooter having a simila arrangement but it has not worked.

Dyno Test Rig

Submitted by Vinayak Bhat on Sun, 2023-02-19 10:02

Hi I'm New to VESCs and I'm currently working on making a Dyno test rig using two brushed DC motors coupled together. I'm using a 100/250 and 75/300 trampa board controller to control the two motors. I intend to run the 75/300 as the driving motor controller and 100/250 as a generating motor controller. Both have the same 24v Power supply to which I've added a battery as a buffer. I've connected the vescs together with can bus and connected the 75/300 to my computer running vesc tool with usb cable .

Dual motor fishing boat

Hello,

It's time to present my VESC-related project. The goal is to propel the boat using two Flipsky 65111 motors, one on each side. The motors are controlled by two Flipsky FSESC6.7 70A controllers. For batteries I will start with four 12 volt/30Ah batteries. The boat is a HR410 which is a 4.1 meter long row boat.
