hi
looking for some help with using a hub motor on my electric scooter.
its a new motor from a mini motors dualtron ultra ,rated at 2700w 60v max brought from a dealer on aliexpress.
paired it up to vesc fine all detections ok running it at 50v lipo . on the bench it runs nice and quiet but in use it has very low torque and will not draw the power commanded of it
i started with 50amp max motor and battery current , the most it would draw was 30amps. so i upped to 100amps an both and it will not draw more than 60amps and not much more torque.
this is on the bench dragging the brakes . in proper use these numbers are lower also the regen braking not very good even set at 40amps
the phase wires are 4mm and 1 meter long if that has any effect, motor is 15 pole pairs, no hall sensors, i have tried foc and bldc mode ,with no change the only thing i tried was lower switching to 16khz which gave a very small improvment.
i would be greatful for any help in getting it to produce more torque
That is probably what the motor can deliver. Big tire, small motor, negative gearing.
the said motor can with original controller do 0-50kmh 6 sec. no where close with a vesc which i would of prefered to use i will try and see if settings can improve it
or just use a regular esc which work fine

Most regular ESCs don't have current limiting, you will probably find they push significantly more current.
Thats ok with me. the vesc won't deliver what i command of it.
Set it to 100amp only get 60 amp , at least the esc deliver the torque
