Motor Values in VESC-Tool 2019

Please share your motor values here. It will help to create a list of motor used. Such a list will help to ad motors to VESC-Tool and get accurate setups nailed faster.

We need the

- size eg. 6374,

- KV

- type (inrunner/outrunner)

- manufacturer and model

- motor XML or screenshot of calculated motor values

- ideally the weight of the motor.

The info can also be added in VESC-Tool >> Motor Settings >> Additional Info

Sharing your motor data here is beneficial for the community. It's a few clicks only!

Here's one that I struggled to get working well, but have not tested it recently. https://vesc-project.com/node/660

I got my motors from this site https://diyelectricskateboard.com/collections/electric-skateboard-motors...

They have the ntc resistor on 5v instead of gnd. you can't use the motor temp. hall sensors are working great.

Can somebody explain me how the motor current is calculated with one of the examples above?

I noticed that many of the users who posted their motor values here have wildly different current values for motors connected to VESCs on CANbus.  Whats up with that? My measured currents were within an amp of each other, which is what I would expect.

I would think that if your motor current max was measured to be 49.01A on one motor and 5.67A on the other, like @dchkg posted here, it would indicate a problem with detection, or indicate that 2 very different motors are connected.

EDIT:  I now see that all posts with these big current differences are from @dchkg, although there is one post from that user where the currents are in line.

These motors are available new and used on eBay and are the same kind used on Lime rideshare scooters. The unmodified single motor is rated at 350W @36V.

The 200mm (8 inch) tires are solid rubber and can be easily changed by removing one side cap and then (with a fair amount of force) sliding the tire off the rim/motor.

This motor-wheel will reach a top speed of 22mph (35km/h) when running a 36v (10S) battery pack. Top speed increased to 27mph (43km/h)on 43.2v (12S), and 31mph (50km/h) on 50.4v (14S)

The construction of the motor is very high quality and the flux gap (distance between rotor magnets and stator OD) is only .012" (as measured) at center of each of the 30 neodymium bar magnets. The small flux gap gives this motor great "linkage" and incredible torque. There are 15 pole pairs, so the ERPM will be 15 times the rotational RPM.

The unmodified single motor/wheel weighs 3220g as pictured

Like many other products that are made in China, the manufacturer name and model number are unknown. But the tire is made by Rising Sun.

KV rating is not advertised anywhere that I could find, but I calculated it to be about 22.4KV.    Method:  Vesc-tool shows motor runs at 14000 ERPM max with battery at 41.6V.   14000 ERPM / 15 pole pairs = 933.3333 rotational RPM.  KV = RPM/Volt, so  933.3333 / 41.6 = 22.4

note               after an unknown fault

As you can see it has undergone through some changes, and measured/calculated values dependent not only on the FW, but also on:
- size setup for wizard (->test current)
- battery voltage
- if there is a power meter connected to the system or not
+1 which I had not tested but should have an effect: motor and VESC temp. My measurements were all done in cool status (~40C Mosfet)

ps: note that I use comma for decimal instead of a point.

That's a really good question.  Also what is the "Motor Current" that the VESC reports?  Also what is the reported resistance?

Can anyone tell me what settings I need to make this work? I have the same 6374 type motor. If someone could walk me through this, I'd be VERY GRATEFUL!
