Hi there,
i'm new and i own now two vesc 4.12, soldered by myself and flashed today a bootloader and firmware through the stlink v2. After updating the firmware with vesc tool free it tells me that i got hardware version 410 but on the pcb stands 4.12. So it have to be HW version 412 or not ? What did i wrong.
have a nice weekend
Sounds like this:

I saw this thread already and tried it out but with no luck :/
I download the .bin of the posted link, did a custom firmware upgrade with no effect also a new bootloader
I think i have now HW 410 and Software Version 3.34 or similar on a vesc 4.12
The same firmware is used for HW4.10, HW4.11 and HW4.12. So you should be fine with 4.10.
From the firmware code, conf_general.h:
#define HW_VERSION_410 // Also for 4.11 and 4.12
Yes, 410, 411 and 412 use the identical FW. Basically the 4.10 and 4.12 are 99.9% identical. Ony one trace was changed and a capacitor got a beef up. Nothing that would affect the FW usesage.

Hey ho!
I've the same problem. after updating the Firmware it says Hardware 410. Now i can't do a Motor detection in BLDC mode. Motor isn't spinning and it says bad detection results. When trying to do a motor detection in sensored mode, i get the 0Ohm Resistance failure. Is there a solution or a way to downgrade the firmware?
greets
Andy
same problem for me
