I've hooked up a VESC 6 to a Xiaomi M365 hub motor and I'm getting good FOC control so far.
I connected the M365 throttle control to ADC1 and I have good mapping 0-100, using current control setting. I'm wondering though if there is a setting which applies regen braking when I let off the throttle, similar to original M365 regen, or similar to Tesla accelerator pedal.
Maybe I'm missing a setting somewhere. Thanks for any help.
I think you are looking for the control setting "current, no reverse, break center". That should begin breaking after you let up from center.
But that means the default throttle position will be full brake, and won't begin accelerating until I reach the past-center position. Also wondering if auto-sleep will work if I'm default full-brake.
I'm interested in a similar solution. Release ebike throttle and engage regen, but ideally not at the halfway point. More like first 15% is regen brake and next 85% is throttle.
Ok, you can change the center point voltage under ADC mappings after completing the input setup wizard (can't change it during the setup wizard).
Now all I need to figure out is how to stop the braking once the speed is zero or below X speed/rpm. I don't particularly want to be dumping 6 amps into my motors when ever I'm stopped.
