Good morning all,
I use a VESC 75v 300A with an Alien Power CA80 electric motor. VESC is a very good product and has great functionality !
Unfortunately, during the tests I found an inconsistent battery current.
On the following graph at the end the motor current is 145.22A and the Duty cycle 90.00%. So I should have a battery current of around 145.22 x 0.9 = 130A. However, the value indicated is 99A, very far from that calculated.
Can you help ?
Thanks
Jean
If you are using foc then I am not surprised it is lower, I think duty cycle * phase current doesn't give you any indication of battery current for foc.
I've noticed some non-linearity in battery current measurement when running in FOC mode. It tends to show higher current than actual current consumed in 1-15A range by 1.5-2 times. I am getting more realistic values when it gets to 20A or so.
I am using my custom hardware that may introduce some variations but in BLDC mode, the battery current measurements seem to be much more consistent/correct at any range.
