Hello all,
I've been building electric bikes for 4 years now. I recently purchased a 200 amp Maytech VESC and a motor capable of 200 amps continuous. The VESC tool software, however, does not allow over 120 amps for the motor or battery settings. Does anybody know of a way to override this? Thank you for your help!
That's quite funny, in the firmware tab does it say that the device is a maytech 200A or something similar?
Normally these numbers are actually peak current so you might find its not able to do 200A continuous.
The firmware tab doesn't seem to recognize that it is a maytech VESC. Should this be the reason why the software is limiting max current? My friend has a standard VESC and he also can't go above 120 amps. I'm not too sure that the firmware for the VESC is causing the problem, but I'm definitely not ruling it out. Is there anything else you could think of that may be causing it?
