Which STM32F4 MCU's can be used?

Hi,

I am planning on making a 3rd party VESC ESC, which stm32f4 mcu's can i use?

Does the vesc firmware support any F4, or specific families like f405/407?

Sorry if the question seems stupid, first time designing such a project.

Regards.

I came across your post with the same question. The STM32F405RGT6 was used at one point, it is on the VESC 4 I use and on the BOM of the MINI4 but it is largely out of stock now. I don't know which variant is used on the VESC 6.

no time like the present

With semiconductor shortage, it's a bummer. Can't do much if chips are not available. That stresses the need for alternative MCU candidates and the firmware portability.

maybe you could try gd32, which could be compatibled with stm32  and only need to change some of the code(about RCC etc.)

I was looking at it but it's a gamble. Can you elaborate on the change that needs to be made to make it work?

We still have 405 in stock! But have some issues with our vesc ... Looks like resonance or something ...
