Power switch on VESC 6 MK III

How does that power switch on the COMM port of the VESC 6 MK III work? Which cables do I have to use and where do they connect to?

Can you wire the power button to any 5V and ground on the VESC MK3 or does it have to be those specific ones (Can and Comm)?

Given, in a two VESC MK3 setup that the Can sockets already have the link cable plugged-in blocking access to the ground and the Comm socket also has an existing plug in it which makes it a pain to have to order new cables and connectors to rewire things to use those specific pins.  Versus just using open and available 5V and ground pins in open sockets on the VESC.  Of course I tried wiring to other open 5V and ground's on the VESC and go figure my power button isn't powering-on the board.  However I don't know if it's from using the different 5V and ground's or if maybe the button I'm using isn't compatible or something else but knowing this definitely helps with the trouble shooting?

Would be great to get some clarity on this:)

Does anyone know if you can use other 5V and ground pins available on the VESC MK3 or if it has to be from the Can and Comm ports?

Any. They are all connected on the PCB.

Should the push button be a "momentary" or "latching" push button?

I only ask because in my setup with a momentary button the power only remains on as long as I hold the button...something is wrong!  But I am wired correctly, as described and pictured in the posts above and below.

Discovered the answer to my question...the push button for powering on should be a momentary button.

The overall problem I was having was my MK3 came loaded with VESC 6 "60" bootloader so the firmware wasn't updating with the correct "60_MK3" bootloader.  Now the momentary button starts it right up.

Just to let anyone know...

Ok, pretty cool!

I got my mk3 and tested with 15V power supply and 30V power supply, and I gotta say, impressed!

With 15V the current went to 16uA writhing one minute of disabling Vesc, with 30V it took 3 minutes to get under 20uA, but as soon as Vesc goes to sleep it jumps from around 200mA to 30uA.

Is It possible to use a power switch on the VESC 6.4 hardware? It's labeled ADC3 (where the power switch label is now)?

EDIT: I tested this on a VESC 6 beta, HW 6.4 (60 in VESC tool)  FW 5.1

Power Switch dose not seem to work with the older HW, LED lights up but button does not change power state (always on if connected to battery)

The flipsky is third party and only they know how things need to be wired up. Don't apply a VESC HW manual to third party HW.
