Hi all.
I just got my first Trampa-Board today and within the package i also got the brand new wand remote controller. Btw. a really nice piece of kit.
In Benjamin's introduction video he showed a (imo. nice) feature: when braking fully, after a moment, the board will switch into a slow reserve so the board will stop or back up even when going down hill.
Mine doesn't do this. So i am wondering if maybe I have to update either the remote controller's or the vesc's firmware or both or if this may be just a setting somewhere which is turned off.
Is there a way to output the firmware version of the wand? (Guess I will find the vesc's firmware version in the vesc-tool)
I don't want to rush into a unnecessary firmware update since i am not yet familiar with the vesc-tool. The board came pre-configured and i don't know whether i will loose my settings when updating nor do i know yet how to backup and restore the settings.
Thanks,
Michael
The VESC firmware needs to be at least version 3.60, as that is where the feature is implemented. Upgrading the VESC should do the trick.
Thanks, that will be my mission for tomorrow. Just one more question: will the upgrade overwrite the current settings and if so is there a way to backup before and restore after?
EDIT: ok, i found the "Save Motor Configuration as XML" in the "File" menu...
Upgraded from 3.59 to 3.61 and brake to reverse works now. Thanks. :-)
Another improvement: going downhill very slowly (walking pace) is much smoother now.
